Easiest would be to fabricate a bracket and bolt it to the lower triple clamp.
Best way would be to fabricate a bracket and weld it to the front of the neck at the exact height you want.
Or you could drill and tap a hole in front of the neck and make sure the bolt doesn't extend too far into the...
Here is the license plate and tail light mount. It's hard to see, but there are two 1"x1/16" bars supporting it from the bike. I tried one bar and it flexed too much, so I triangulated it with a second bar.
Here is how I mounted the Benelli tank. The bracket is for mounting a light on a...
The angle isn't too critical. If you zoom in you can see I have a pretty good angle on my rearset linkage. I will probably drop it one hole when I start fine tuning the bike, but it shifts fine the way it is.
Stuff to buy (some is wish list or will have to wait)
Rearset linkage Tarozzi: http://www.mgcycle.com/index.php?manufacturers_id=103
Shocks Hagon: https://www.davequinnmotorcycles.com/cgi-bin/webc.cgi/Hagon.html
Tarozzi makes a good fork brace, too. Improves the front end a lot.
1980 would be a Lemans II. Good solid bike, lots of fun to ride. Reliable except for the electrical connections and switchgear (like all old Guzzis).
Nigusil coated bores, so no flaking chrome to worry about.
Parts are readily available, too.
I was going to use Minicel foam to build a seat on an aluminum base before I found the Motolanna seat. It is used for Kayak seats and you can even leave it uncovered. Cuts with an electric knife or a belt sander.
I went with the Benelli tank and Motolanna seat. It's a cliche, but it looks so damn good :P
Didn't have to modify the tank, either.
And minimal controls
Starter and kill switches from HDB
And an enduro bike light/horn switch from Siccass Racing
A guy on the Guzzi forum used a...
Others with V50's have found they need 8 cells. 4 cells will usually start it, but 8 cells makes living with the bike in the real world better.
Can you charge that type of cell with a regular starcharger?
I have a Ballistic mounted under the tranny of my V50, but I'm bypassing it with a regular...
Get one of these. Pep Boys carries them, too.
Get a cross fitting, run the down tube to the crank case, the two side tubes to the two heads, and put the vent filter up under the tank off of the top...
