    Fiberglass tank ok or ruined?

Thanks guys! I'll have a look at the Caswell sealer. A friend of mine mention that here in Norway the ethanol content of the gas is less than 5%. Is that still enough to damage the F/G tanks?

    Fiberglass tank ok or ruined?

Ok. So I received a really nice Rickman fiberglass tank from a friend. The tank had been saved from the trash, but was complete and didn't leak. I cleaned it out, moved the petcocks and made it fit my Guzzi frame. Now, having almost completed the whole bike, I opened the cap and the smell had a...

Autotek. Thanks for the input! The '79 have the newer type forks that were introduced in 70/71 (I think). They have different internals than the '69 I have. I know a set of those will bolt pretty much straight on. The problem is to find a set. But changing the fork also mean I have to change...

    69 Triumph TR6R - Vintage racer-inspired café

I've been looking at fork upgrades for a while, and it turnes out that upgrades for the pre 70/71 forks aren't that easy to find. I know I can fit a 70/71 front end pretty easily but I was wondering if any of you have any other suggestions? I suppose I would have to change the whole front end...

Haha, Hichhkrjo. Tru dat. Weber: Thanks. Acid bath it is. I'm based in Oslo, Norway, so Norwegian is my native language. Love the simplicity of the little single carb. Actually, I love the simplicity of the whole bike. This is my first time disassembling it "properly" and I can't believe there...

    69 Triumph TR6R - Vintage racer-inspired café

Some of the guys at my garage decided to get a degreasing bath and a acid bath (is that the correct english term?) and I decided to join. What a cool thing! I've only tried the degreaser yet, but it worked really well. The carb came out like (almost) new. Disassembled it and left it to dry...

Thanks Weber! I'll look into the VHT and the brake cleaner. Although I don't really hate the environment... Yeah, there are some beautiful Triumph mixes, but one of my favorites is the blue one (http://www.flickr.com/photos/apjones/5867463215/) and there are three bikes like that at my garage...

Love your build WeberKid. Please let me know if you have any good suggestions or anything regarding the Triumph. Colours are hard. Have a look at this (extremely long) awesome flickr set http://www.flickriver.com/photos/-eu/sets/72157624733034817/.

Got to do a bit more today. Bought some vinyl polishing paper and started cleaning those pistons. Hell of a job, but it had to be done. Huge difference at least! Also got started on the RFID sensor mount in the headlight. Stripped the ammeter and it looks like it's going to work. Just need...

    69 Triumph TR6R - Vintage racer-inspired café

Went by the workshop today with some new parts and some ideas. I've decided to strip the cylinder and clean the pistons, and leaving the rest of the engine as it is. It's in fairly good shape and looks like it haven't gone that far since the last rebuild. Tried out the new RDIF ignition lock...

New day. New tasks. Got the engine relatively clean and mounted in the stand. Got the head off and to no surprise there were leaks in abundance. The pistons were pitch black from soot. Now, what to do about it? New pistons? Have to take a closer look at the cylinder as well. Removed the...

Engine stand on the cheap. Does the job though. Got the engine out of the frame and started cleaning it. And there's so much to clean! And finally! Santa came by today! Also halfway decided on a Wassell 200w stator. Any point upgrading the rotor as well? I'm struggeling with bad charging...
