    Yup, that was it. I pulled out the new shifting shaft seal and that spring-ring thingy was missing from it. I put it back in and reinstalled the seal. That thing sure seamed to go into the seal easy. I hope it stays. The shaft seams to fit through the seal easy as well. I guess if I have a leak...

    Here's a conundrum: after torquing up the crankcase on my cb360, I found this thing on the floor. It is a tiny diameter steel spring with the ends joined to form a ring. I have never seen it before and have no idea if it came from the cb360. Does anyone here recognize it?

    I appreciate the reply. When rotating it, I noticed a slight and random resistance. So, I decided to take it apart and it has a few small gouges on both the inner and outer rotors. I decided to buy one on Ebay with the hopes it is better.

    I am in the middle of cleaning parts. I read on page 51 in the shop manual, "CAUTION: Do not disassemble the oil pump assembly unless necessary." In bold no less. Should I anyway or just reinstall it... without soaking in cleaning solution? My rebuild kit did not include the gasket that is in...
