Compression was checked just out of basic practice and came out really well. The bike starts first kick almost every time. I can agree that I may have caused some of these problems but I'm not an idiot so dont come at me like one. This is my first vintage honda and I took the go big or go home...
To clarify, the shop did all the work that I couldnt do. They rebuilt the carbs, they did all the tuning, they test rode it. They are in the heart of the city so its possible they didnt take it out and really run it. It runs fine in the lower speeds and if you arent really pushing through the...
They did test ride it. I dont know to what extent though. I agree though, I was beyond pissed after all this happend. I paid for 10hrs of work just to leave it there and scream the whole way home.
Like I said, the carbs were fully rebuilt less than a week ago. The shop specializes in cafes and the back pressure and clutch adjustment make more sense.
I spoke to a guy with the same year and same exhaust and pods that had his at or over the ton mark. I just know that theres obviously a problem and I cant figure it out.
I agree with the crap pods statement but hey I was on a budget. The shop that I took it to pretty much only works on these bike so I can only assume they "properly" jetted it. As for it running before everything, when I test rode it before buying it, it ran better than it does now as far as the...
I mean the shop spent a lot of time getting the jets proper for the pods and exhaust. I guess they could be wrong but I'm still thinking with is a different issue because the power is good in the first few gears. It just literally tops out at 50 with a tailwind...
No not really. It just feels like its topping out at a point where it shouldnt be. Like in 5th I think I made it to 45-50mph and then it just had nowhere else to go. I'm so confused. Could it be an issue with back pressure? Or lack of with the exhaust?
The exhaust is no shorter than many others I've seen and the carbs were just rebuilt spot on last week. How would the clutch play a role as stupid of a question as that may be.
The exhaust is about even with the pods. They are straight with home made baffels. The shop checked all of the basics when they had it but who knows... The clutch is another problem. When I put the clubmans and the new levers on the clutch lever was really tough but I didnt mess with it too...
Ok so I just went to pick up my bike from the shop and theyve done a less than amazing job. The issue that Im posting about is this;
After a certain point in each gear it just wont give me anymore. I dont mean I have it redlined, I mean this thing wont do 60mph. I have pods, I cut the exhaust...
