I appreciate the advice! I suppose this build is an exercise for knowledge if nothing else. The more that I think about it, the more I'm leaning toward a Hayabusa wheel.
CB750 stock 110/90 - 19 gives me a diameter of 26.8" and 753.1 revs/mile.
Hayabusa stock 120/70 - R17 gives me a...
Has anyone been able to fit Comstars on 99-07 Hayabusa forks? I've searched around a good bit and I can't find a definitive answer. I may just run the Busa front wheel as it's only an inch smaller. I'll have to tackle the spedo issue in running that setup, though.
Thanks again! I'll stretch the springs and maybe find a slightly thicker o-ring. The silicon sounds like a good idea. It seems to be happy at 2.5 turns out so I may not have to worry about the silicon once set.
Only mods are a 4-1 and taped pods. It runs quite well until the screws back...
Thanks! I'll head to the store tomorrow and source some o-rings. If that doesn't work then I'll hit it with a bit of red locktite. The engine temps will likely be too high for blue or green, but should keep the red at a reasonable viscosity for adjustment.
Your guess is as good as mine. 2.5 turns out and the little bastard backs out under vibration...
I was hoping there was a super secret squirrel Jedi trick that I was unaware of to solve this problem.
Enjoy the popcorn.
I just finished rebuilding the carbs on my '81 CB750. It runs well for a bit, but the mixture screws back out and fall out after a few minutes of tuning. Is there some trick to keep them in place?
All back together on the bar front. I dig the "burly Russian girl" vibe that's going on with this build. Nobody's gonna steal her because she'll ride rough and insult your manhood with vodka breath.
I could use some bar clamp risers. Does anybody know of some for this bastard of a bar clamp?
It's a bit of a two part theory. First, they were slightly dilapidated and the tape will hold them together for the time being. Second, I'm hoping that it will increase the vacuum. We will see. I loose nothing if it doesn't work.
Carbs are finished for testing. Fortunately for me, my fiance decided to use my pods for wine bottle candle covers on the patio as they "seemed like old garage parts" while I was gone for a month... :-\ I got them back into decent enough shape and taped them. I'll replace them later. I'm...
Thanks for all of the advice!
I'll just touch up the exhaust with some VHT paint for good measure. The front is raked a bit more than I like, but it looks rather dramatic in the picture. Maybe one day I'll throw a Hayabusa front end on it.
As far as jetting goes - I matched the 120 with a...
