I had the Mikuni RSs of the bike and check the floats, seemed to be pretty much spot on 17mm, and also the bench synch seemed to be good straight out of the factory. i guess they do bench synch them at the factory before sending them out?
Okay, so I have the bike running, but not good. I...
Thanks. I've put a lot of sweat and tears into it, also some blood, so good to hear that others approve. This is the first bike I build so it's been a steep learning curve, but also exciting. The spider-thingie is ugly :-o but serves as a cell phone holder for my waterproof Sony. I should take...
Hi Guys,
Finally an update to this thread ;-) I have been working long nights for the past week after getting my top back from the shop. Man, these Norwegian machine shop guys sure take their time. I had to wait one month for the guy to help me out :o
The install of Gpz1100 cams went smooth...
I've finally got my bike ready and it is firing, but running poorly on idle. I need to use the throttle to keep it running. I am trying to figure out a procedure for doing the adjustments, and to be honest I am not sure which end to focus on first.
The engine has been bored to 1075ccm and I've...
That pretty much summarizes my approach to the 83 KZ1000R2 I bought ;-) . Nothing beats taking everything apart checking it and then reassembling it, downside is that it takes much more time than what you would ever imagine as you probably have no idea since it will be your first time.
Nice...
Ser meget bra ut, jeg er imponert. holder også på med et førstegangsprosjekt, en '83 KZ1000R. Får håpe resultatet blir noe i nærheten av ditt B-)

I have converted the wired clutch on my KZ1000R2 into a hydraulic system using a kit from Z1Enterprises:

I need some tips on the optimal way to route the cable. I've...
My gastank has been painted and sitting empty for the winter and I have been trying to empty out old debris from the tank by removing the petcock and shaking it around. Alot of old particles (rust etc.) has come out, but when shaking the tank I can still hear some debris moving around in there...
Time for one more update today :D
After hours and hours of wiring, measuring, beeping through wires, terminating connectors.... my wiring harness is 95% completed. Doesn't look all that pretty yet, need to put it on the bike and make sure that it's 100% before i tidy and wrap things up:
I've...
It's time for a quick update on the caliper paint job.
As I belive one of you mentioned the paint job on my calipers is slightly different than the paint job on my wheels. Painting is not my main business so i kind of thought that gold was gold :P and didn't really consider that there is a...
I mounted my headlamp the other day, along with a Tarozzi fork brace:
I also cleaned my calipers and put on a coat of paint. I was at first heistant to go for something other than the stock black. I was considering silver in order to do something that would stand out a bit from the otherwise...
I was also considering this as an option, but found it to be PITA because of the small space to put the nut. I might consider it again, as I think it might look better to have the blinkers mounted where you did and not sticking out too far.
Thanks for the tip.
I got some work done last night, servicing my brake calipers. When you make something go faster, it might also be a good idea to make sure you can stop well. I am taking a part all calipers and rebuilding them, also with new pistons. Dunno really if the new pistons were really necessary, but...
It's been a while since I posted the last time, and things have been moving a long. I got the holes in the frame drilled out, to verify that the these were only spots and not big areas that were rusted out. I had the holes welded back up and the frame powder coated. I finally got it picked up...
