nice job! love the colors Iincluding the contrast between the seat and tank. I just use a Genius charger cus I have a bunch of different bikes with batteries that need preserving. I like the fact that I just clip it on the terminals and walk away!
oh and some pics... 2nd pic is of the pipes that came with the bike. I like them enough that I am hoping they will fit whatever style I ultimately go with.
So far I haven't a diagnosis on the tire clearance issue but I'll get there. I did some more disassembly today. Then I decided it's time to get this thing started up before going any further into the project. I drained the tank and carbs and I'll tell you I've never smelled gas quite as stale...
I actually checked a site I frequent which shows a "parts explosion" diagram. If seems that all of the parts are correct and the installation is done in proper sequence. I'm confident by looking and doing a few measurements that the arm is square and aligned properly. My other Virago is a...
Recently I picked up an 85 750 Virago for cheap. I wanted it just as a cheap summer ride. The bike needed a few little things but overall was a good running bike and in great condition. While I was away working on a 14 day rotation I advertised locally for a parts bike. A guy contacted me...
Nice looking bike. Great story too! lol But, why did the impound lot auction off your bike?
where I live you usually wait a month or 2 and have it returned to you. Sounds like a form of theft to impound your bike then sell it to the highest bidder.
Nice project you have going on. I know a guy in town that has an XL frame with parts on it that he is selling. Hes also one of those guys that knows where to find whatever you happen to be looking for. PM me if you want his contact info. Good luck with the bike!
I like the way the hard tail bolts on to the frame. Just wondering why you changed it. For more stretch or was the old one rusted out? The rebuild is looking awesome! Good luck.
Started working on the carbs finally. I also have the bike about 70% put back together. The carbs are going to really turn out to something special, or at least I am hoping. Everything is being disassembled on both carbs and sandblasted with glass medium, and I do mean everything. Even the...
I found this on a local site and thought some of you guys in that area would like to know about it. I wish I was close to where it is cus I would buy it in a heartbeat!!
