Bit of a delayed reply but MotoGP Werx out of California is building new Calfab swing arms for the 550 and other bikes. He bought all the rights and stuff. I bought the cb550 version for my 650.

pipe will likely sit a couple of inches lower but same angle. Might be a bit loud but I have another baffle that fits inside if it gets too loud. I use to ride a Harley so I'm use to loud. This bike is built for zipping around the city and maybe a hwy or two. Probably will not see any long trips.

the 650 is a derivative of the 550, a lot of inter-changeable parts. Frames are very close, you can take a 650 engine and pop in 550 frame. My swing arm is from Moto GP Werks and for a 550, bolted right up (had to order the 550 swing arm bolts etc. I lost an inch on the length from the 650 arm...

Couple more angles

On two wheels now. Getting closer. Ordered a Pingel fuel petcock with steel bung. Also order a frenched site glass. Once these are in I have a shop lined up to tig weld into my tank, then test. Then lined and off to paint.

Here ya go If your frame has the removable piece you'll have to notch out the bolt locations like I did. Also radius out the back side of those notches.

I'm 2 years in now but at final assembly. Its all the little items that hold you up along the way, waiting for parts etc. I also have an 18 month old son which takes priority. I get a little bit of wrenching in after he goes to bed and sometimes on the weekends. It will get done though. on...

Didn't you get the memo? until further notice none of us are aloud to experiment with our bikes unless we have an approval in writing. Further more, any parts acquisitions (even if we are paying) must be approved prior to ordering! :) I like the direction you are heading with your build.

Also picked up this little 2 stroker for a future project. Yamaha GT80, got it for nothing. Needs some TLC. Once my 650 is on the road I will tear this apart and clean it up. Likely sell it. Its a little big for a starter bike for my little guy. I should be able to make a few bucks on it though...

little bit more done this weekend. Have to order up a new fuel bung to get welded in. Fuel petcock is hitting the carbs so have to move it towards the front slightly, bout an 1". sucks but oh well.
