Ok so here's where I am so far, it's been slow, but I'll be cooking on it in the next month again. We just moved shops and now I'm going to get some welding done when I get the bike moved. The seat I'm going to angle the back end up, kind of like a sportbike. This will give the passenger a...

A quick update. Did some painting, and just in general clean up. Cleaned up the spots there was surface rust and painted over them, and started the work of cleaning the motor. Wiring harness will be done this weekend, then the seat, fender, and wiring on the lights. Last will be cleaning up the...

Started on the seat as while working on the harness, measuring out the passenger and operator seat is a pain. But I'll get the measurements right soon. Here is a couple pictures.

    XS850 - Monoshock & USD Fork (pics pg 13)

Re: XS850 Cafe - Monoshock + Modern Front End I LOVE the look of mono shock cafe racers...and for some reason mono shock vtwin cafe racers are even more attractive to me. That being said I have an inline twin haha

Spent about 6 hours on the wiring harness tonight, I would say that it's really coming together! Got some pin connectors to make attaching and detaching a breeze and have been clearing out the crappy wires and putting new wires in. Here is some progress. Yes we did solder the crimp pin connectors.

I already checked, the picture must just look like it 0.0. The pan shouldn't hit the seat I have bottomed it out and left an inch on it. The shocks in the rear are pretty stiff surprisingly. However, the pan is going to be about 1/4 in higher because I need to give it clearance over the battery...

New to the forum and have some questions!

So a quick update here, my buddy and I are making a completely new wiring harness for the bike. We are going to make a stock one with all the normal electronics and run the same wires, we are just going to change a couple things. The switches on the bars we are going to put pin connectors on, as...

Thanks for all the advice. I'll be looking for a stock front fender this week. My wiring turned out to not want to work with me at all. It's frayed in some places from the previous owners, there are wires that should be hot and don't come up as ground or hot to my multimeter. Looks like I will...

Also, I'm not thinking about making it kick start only to save the five pounds. I was looking for a way to open up the inside look of the bike, and slim down the wiring harness of any unneeded wires. I know that five pounds isn't life or death, it's not a full blown track bike where every ounce...

Edit. I was doing some research about the front fender...I don't think that I need to have one....teverywhere I look says nothing about bracing and there are tons of guys out there who have built cafés from them and they don't really have an issue. Am I missing something?

The picture above was how I got the bike. I just started working on it. It's good to know that the forks aren't braced, I knew something looked a little funny up front. I also don't think that I will put rear sets on it right now, I can always add those later. As far as the club mans....yeah I...

Hey guys, from Appleton, Wi. I notice this hasn't been posted in a while but I would like to get out in the wind or in the shop with any of you guys in my area sometime. I have a 72 cb350 gone cafe/brat that I am working on. Let me know if any of you guys are down sometime to get out there.

Thanks for the link! I'm not quite sure how I passed that up. So I guess I'm keeping the battery, it seems like the easier thing to do anyway. I can't seem to find a good thread about building a brat seat. There are plenty of YouTube videos on it but I haven't quite found a method I like, and I...

    Project cb350

Hey guys. Just decided to document my build of a cb350. I didn't with my nighthawk bobber....so I decided to this time! Well here is how I bought her, but I want to make some changes. I am thinking about doing a battery and electric starter delete, then slimming up the wiring harness. Since...

Thanks! However I've been googling and searching forums for weeks now and can't really find things are quite what I am looking for. I don't mean to be difficult :/. For the electronics questions that I have if anyone has any pictures, even of stuff that seems stupid like the back of your...

New to the forum and have some questions!

Hey guys, brand new to the forum and I had a couple questions, but first let me introduce myself. I'm 20 years old and this is my fourth motorcycle in two years. I started with a sport bike like every other 18 year old kid and then built two bobbers. I became obsessed with cafe racers. I was...
