Well, I stalled out temporarily for the Holidays. It's still missing on one side but I attribute that to checking connections. I still have some oil to blow out from when the oiler was set way too heavy. It's dripping out of the slip fit on the exhaust header. I DID get some "Donkey Dick" K...

!!!!!Doh!!!!!! It was off a country mile. I don't know what "two marks" I thought I had lined up when the throttle was full open but they weren't the correct marks. they are lined up now as I had to back off the adjuster several turns to make it so. I couldn't start it up tonight (It's a...

budda shifts "smooth and silky" 8) Now that it shifts correctly I'm puzzled as to why I can't get the mix right. It smokes like a chimney even with the stock jets and the needle lowed a notch. One side is much worse than the other and I see less spark action on the plug. I double checked my...

Solved! ;D When I drained the oil, I pulled the neutral detent bolt as well as the correct drain plugs. I accidentally reassembled the neutral detent bolt into the drain plug's hole next to it. This prevented the shift mechanism from working. Thanks PF for the clue about neutral detent...

Spot on, PF. I removed the "wrong" second oil drain plug and goofed up my neutral detent somehow. UPDATE: After reading PF's reply, I found that by loosening the neutral detent bolt, I was able to shift into gear, however, now I cannot shift into any other gear or back into neutral. Please...

So now "I've got issues" :( I change my gear oil to Red Line 10-40 for M/C. The oil I drained seemed like a much less than 1400 cc's and did have some sparkles in it....however, it did not have anything on the magnets of the drain plugs etc. My last ride was fine, gearbox worked "OK"...

She's legal, now! No more sneaking around. With kill switch installed and current stickers on my license plate, what can we do to hurry Spring along? Can't wait to log some miles on it and learn about its manners. 8-). End of chapter 1 John

Hey Gang, I sure like the character of the Titan. It starts right up and with the stock jets back installed. It runs and idles real nice. I guess it's a mystery why the 155 mains that I bought made it smoke and bog so badly. I'm actually surprised that I didn't try the stock set up prior to...

Three days ago I was kind of guessing about wiring and trying to sneak it under the tank and seat. This photo was taken just before an "Ah Ha"! moment. "George" At Acewell gauges in China advised that he had a spoke mount magnet and asked what country I lived in. I returned my mailing address...

Thanks for the detailed reply, Mobius. I found that the wiring diagram that I was using for reference was incorrect. Upon finding the correct diagram, I was able to sort out my electrical and all accessories working correctly. I also finished tightening all hardware and purged the air from my...

Yesterday was a good day of finalizing locations for electric components. I used a universal turn signal relay and mounted it under the seat with everything else. The main Eastern Beaver fuse box has it's own relay also located under the seat that is triggered by the ignition switch powering...

Got the little battery located as well as the cleaver fuse box and electronic ignition rectifier. Just about ready to kick it over as soon as I sort what jets to replace my stock 150 mains and pilot jets with. Feel free to chime in here! I may just put the carbs back in stock configuration...

Got Oil! Got my new oil line today. Fit perfect! The Parker Store in Fremont, CA did a great job for a fair price. Also, This speedo is pretty hot.....Edit update: Got a line on a "Spoke magnet" that will work in the absence of a disc to mount it to.

Pulled the carbs. Nothing unexpected except gaskets are gummy and everything looks a little ancient. Heheheh. Here's the surprise, my main jets are 150's. Hmmmm. According the the service manual, 150 is stock for the T500. Further comment or affirmation on main jet and pilot jet changes would...

Will do Brad. I'm hot to get the major components into their final locations this week and post some more pics. I'm pulling the carbs and replacing the main and pilot jets as Titan Performance crew suggests. It's been 42 years since I kicked over a two stroke of my own! Last night I found a...

Thanks guys. It's really coming together nicely. I still need a shortened clutch cable but I'm ready to blaze ahead on ordering some new jets and finalize the oil connect. I'll go with cutting the old oil line about an inch from the pump cover and clamp a new line over the O.D. of the old...

Hey Johnu, Thanks! Do I need to cap off the tach take off? Any idea where such a cap might be found? Sorry about all the newbie questions. Yes, I'm planning to either cut and connect to existing oil line of preferably purchase a custom line with the stock Suzuki style fitting at the oil...

I'm pretty sure the "something missing" item is the tachometer connection. Since I will not be running a mechanical tach, should I cap this off? What bottom end oil and mix oil are most of us using in motors like ours? Thanks!
