    1983 Honda 750 Nighthawk

I was sure old ones were removed. I think I was under the impression the copper gaskets werent meant to be fully crushed so I probably judt never had the nuts as tight as I should have. Been ok for a few rides now that I snugged them all up more.

    1983 Honda 750 Nighthawk

The low speed pulsation of the OEM rotors was just getting worse. Both rotors were fu***d. Waste of money those ebay rotors were. Wont be doing that again unless I can measure used rotors myself. Bought a set of Arashi chinesium rotors and they are fantastic so far. Very smooth and controlled...

    1983 Honda 750 Nighthawk

Any advice for headers going loose? When i first installed i went just tight enough to have the copper gaskets make contact, and maybe a touch more. I noticed after a bit that the exhaust would leak, so i tightened them up just a touch more. Today, i got home with a very obvious exhaust leak...

Did you check the floats themselves for cracks and if they're letting gas in? Bad luck with these carbs. Mine got cleaned and then sat dry for like a year. So far so good. Knock on wood. Also, what mirrors are those?

    Choosing correct master cylinder

Did ya measure run out to confirm? I measured mine, and it wasnt as bad as I thought. But somehow its thickness varies more than I'd like which isnt helping. Not sure how that develops even. One last thing im oing to do is unbolt one caliper, stick a 3/16" shim between the pads and tie the...

    Choosing correct master cylinder

After some rides and trying to bed the pads, I think the variance in thickness is a problem. The rotors dont shake under braking. But when you clamp down you definitely feel the brakes doing an on/off as if they're only grabbing one (thicker?) Section of the rotor. What's your opinion on the...

    1983 Honda 750 Nighthawk

Nice day for a ride. Bike runs well, but my tech not so much. It's like the tach cable is slipping and dropping rpms then back up. And leaking oil at the valve cover even though I JUST put in a brand new seal for that .... ughhhhh Any thoughts on the cable?

    1983 Honda 750 Nighthawk

Painted the side covers .... gotta redo the passenger side. Somehow the paint turned out a bit streaky! Weird. Didnt notice it at all when it was bare paint but the clear really brings it out. Damn. I'm gonna have to redo this one. Bought some neoprene backed washers to secure it and they...

    1983 Honda 750 Nighthawk

The only thing i don't have (to be street legal) is a speedometer. I couldn't find one i liked so i just designed my tach/lights without one in mind and used my hand-held GPS unit mounted to the bars. But it would suck at night because i don't have it hardwired in. Thinking i might do a...
