    Look what I can do.

I had considered boring out the center, but I need to get this thing road ready before I miss a riding season.

    Look what I can do.

Yes, I understand the principal, but I didn't have any guide to go by, like I said, I am rookie. So I set it down half the thickness of the o ring. I figured it was easier to take more out than put it back in. So tonight I removed a little more material, and it fits SNUG. I had to freeze it...

    Look what I can do.

I made this yesterday. I am not a machinist, so I think it came out pretty good for a rookie. Tho I do have to chuck it back up and drop the o ring groove a little deeper, due to it not fitting with it on.

    Tire hitting electronics pan.

For me personally, it is about building a clean bike, and one that performs well. For others it is about aesthetics. I don't know when this place became caferacer2.net but when building a custom bike I think we should build what we like and ride within the means of its engineering. not everyone...

    Tire hitting electronics pan.

Yes. that is part of my redesign. It just sucks I have 15 or so hours in my seat, and I have to re-engineer it. The knowledge from my failed design taught me tons. I learned how to check for clearance issues, And many of my favorite bikes have now become unpractical. :-\

    Tire hitting electronics pan.

Lol. Unfortunately I did not see the issue when I built the seat. I wanted it to cover the ugly 71 cb350 frame rails, instead of putting it on top of the frame like most people, I wrapped it over creating a straight line from the tank to the rear of the seat. ugh. This is the reason I was...

    Tire hitting electronics pan.

I see many people cutting off their factory frame brace above the rear tire and welding in a pan for their battery and such flush with the frame. As I was getting ready to fab the pan for mine, I noticed there would be some tire clearance issues. I removed the springs from the shocks and the...

    cb350 Carb adjustment

let me know if this sounds right. Adjusted the cable screw all the way down to let the valve close. Turned the Idle stop screw to where it was just resting against the stop. Adjusted the cable adjuster again until the stop screw just came off the stop and then back a little to rest it again...

    Cb350f rearsets don't clear exhaust

Where would you recommend mounting them?

old school speed rearsets hitting exhaust fix?

My rearsets are hitting the stock exhaust. So here is a fix I plan on getting done tonight. Does anyone see any issues? I am going to build a steel triangle to move the rearset into this position. It will have holes that bolt up to the rear foot peg bracket. It will look somthing like this.

    old school rear sets cb350

Is there a reason why you went down and drilled a hole for the mounts that came with the set? also what is going on with your brake side linkage? It looks clean going forward, are you using the stock link to go back the the break lever?

    old school rear sets cb350

Thanks. I was considering that also. It looks much cleaner.

    old school rear sets cb350

Linkage is hitting the stock passenger bracket. Also it came with 3 90° rod ends and a hiem Rod end. The hiem does not fit the all thread. Is there something I am missing. Does anyone have some pics they could post up of them installed? Think heim ends would pull the all thread away from the...

    cb350 carb issues at idle.

Left side is cold on idle. But when I ease into the throttle at about 1800 it jumps to 3k and the left side pipe starts to get hot. I cleaned carb, set float level, points timing adjusted, air fuel mix to spec, plugs changed, battery at full charge (didn't put a meter on it while running but it...

    cb350 rectifier

I moved all of my electronics under the rear cowl. I made a new bracket for my rectifier that uses the original hardware but I used rubber bushings to stop vibration on the part. My question is does the rectifier need to be grounded through the bolts. Its original location was bolted directly to...

    CB350F Fork Swap

Are they stock fork tubes. In the 70's people liked to put crappy handling longer forks on the front of their bikes. My 71 twin had 7 inch longer set installed. Rode like crap. I found that the early model 350's have a nearly impossible tube to find new. I swapped a cb750 front end on it, got 2...
