The CB500 fours need 1 1/4" to 1 1/2" (35mm to 38mm) pods. As stated earlier the length is an issue for the outer 2 carburetors so they do not hit the frame rails. Uni makes a set specifically for them. They are the PK-3s. I just measured the ones in our shop and the overall length is 2 3/4" and...
Here is a link with hundreds of pics. I have been posting there the whole time, but this sight is much more active on this sort of project. I need to spend more time over here.

The rear sets actually work as well as stock. That is the first set I made, but I'll make the next set too. The motor is how I got it. I have another motor core that I am actually going to build for this bike. It is unpainted. I like the drums too, that is why I switched to the drum up front. I...
I've been working on my cafe bike for quite a while now and it is on the raod for the rest of the summer. There is still tons of work to be done, but I am calling this the testing phase ;D. aka I'm tired of wrenching and want to ride it. Here is a quick look at where it started and where I'm at...
I will. I just swapped front ends for a CB350F today and I will probably cut the front mounts to fit the CB500T tank sometime tomorrow. Then I can see what is happening. I am trying to get a good set of carbs going. I have a bunch of spares, but I am 1 or 2 pieces short for each type >:(. The...
Great thread. I am currently working on a '75 CB360 with a CB500T tank. I do not have the carbs mounted so I didn't know about the interference issue. I really like the CB500T tank on the CB360. ;D I am thinking about doing a rear fuel tank with the battery and electrics under the CB500T shell...
I think it mostly depends on what you are going to do with the tail section and if you are going to lower the rear suspension. You might want to look for a battery with the dimensions that will fit your plans for your seat/tailsection. Also, you might be able to get a AGM sealed battery.
What...
The tank is on the front mounts. All I had to do was cut a 1/4" off each post because the tunnel on the 500T tank is narrower. Then I used some front tank rebbers from a '79 Suzuki GS550 because they are thinner, but you can just cut the 360 ones down too.
Hey, like an idiot I let the petcock...
I'm in Sylvania, Ohio near Toledo. It is 7 tonight but supposed to warm up a bit over the next couple of days.
I have a couple CB500K models if you need some measurements.
IMHO the best thing about these bikes and sites like DTT is that they are for everyone. The bikes are cheap enough for...
I just did this with a cb360 (and other 350s as well). The easiest and best way to free a stuck motor is to soak it with lubricant overnight and rock the bike back and forth while it is in gear. It usually takes 5 or 10 minutes of rocking, but it will tell you right up front if it is going to...
Lookin and soundin sweet.
I had an untitled/bad motored pile of a CB360 last spring. Here is a pic mocked up with a CB500T tank and front end that I had laying around. Also a homemade exhaust from who-knows-where. I never put it together because the motor was shot and I had no title. But I...
I do alot of the old Hondas (alot of CB/CL350s, a few 350Fs, a 500T and a 750SOHC) and the CB500 4 is my favorite. Yours is looking very nice. These bikes have enough power to ride where you want, but are small enough to toss around. They have a simple tank and side covers that look good stock...
