Now that you say it aloud, it gets more confusing. Because what will happen if black and brown are spliced, is you'll get power to black even in the P position. If this isn't a problem because you never use it, then I would do it.

You can see that in the first position, black is connected to red, and brown is to br/wh, but nothing from red to brown or red to brown white like in the 2nd position. Brown doesn't get bridged until the headlight switch, looks like its on your right hand control.

Haha so you have danmoto power from black. Brown and Brown/white only have power when: A) ON position with headlight switch closed B) P Position or p position This makes sense. So assuming you don't need your headlight on, why would you need a taillight and speedo tach lights? (in the 70s)...

WAIT Now I got it. WHen in the ON position, unless the headlight switch is closed, at the top, black to brown white, the tacho/speedo , tail, and head light won't come on. power won't go to that brown and brown/white circuit. so you won't have power during ON unless that switch is closed. only...

Look at the bottom of the diagram at the ignition switch. The first set is all the wires coming in. The second and third shows how stuff gets bridged in the different positions. In the ON position (second block) Black to red, brown to brown/white, in 2nd (P) position (3rd block, next to...

Sorry to bombard with posts, but a big thing, check the diagram of your speedo. The green may not be ground, it could be the neutral, and black might be ground. Just double check, don't assume the wire colors are the same as honda.

Looks like the bridge is red(batt) to black and brown to brown/white in the On position and Red to Brown (taillight) in the P position. Unless I'm reading that wrong, I'm no expert by any means. Stupid question, have you checked your fuses? Maybe the fuse on the red/brown going to the headlight...

That diagram shows the brown as an accessory +12v best I can tell. Comes off the tail light, goes into the fuse box, but splits to accessory. so i take back what i said about running off the brown white. run off the Brown +12v for power to the unit. It's fused.
