I'm looking into replace everything on the rear tire Including the wheel bearings, but there's the bearing retainer that I'm assuming I need a special bearing retainer remover tool to get it off ? Its on a Honda Cb500, and I was wondering if anyone has any ideas of what I could use to improvise...
I picked up a stock set of sprockets and a new 530UO KMC O-ring chain for my 73 HONDA CB5004 and was told recently that the chain might not have enough clearance on the front sprocket. Anyone know if this is true, before I go through the trouble of taking it all off ? I'm sure someones either...
I have a pretty complete top end gasket kit, but the cylinder head camshaft rubber sealings are missing. Does anyone know if this would work on a 72 honda cb500 Four ?

I'm looking for a clutch lifter rod for my 1972 cb500. Mine actually works but its currently broke in half if you have one let me know. I can't seem to find one from the devil ebay, so I though i might be able to score one here ?
I don't know if this will fix your problem, but put your bike up on its center stand and make sure that the notches for your rear wheel on the frame are aligned on both sides and everything is tight and even with the chain adjusters back there. I would also check the teeth on your sprocket to...
That's good to know and a easy fix, but I think I might attempt the wiring the ground to one of the mounting bolts with a ring connection like stated earlier by Terry. It sounds like the easiest way to go and I wont have to bust out the drill. I really love the lucas style taillight. You should...
I had this problem while trying to apply the same Lucas style tail light on my CB500, & after it kept blowing fuses, I just gave up & just put the old tail light back on. So what you guys are saying here is that all we have to do is connect another wire to what would be the ground wire from the...
I have a cb500 basket case that I want to get up and running and I've noticed that my wiring harness has some melted wires and so does the panel. I picked up a new panel for it a while back, but unfortunately it had the round connectors, and I need the straight connectors. I noticed a nice...
I cant seem to figure out if its 35mm or 39mm that works on the cb500 ? I have Uni filters now, but they don't seem to specify anywhere I can see on the filters. Thanks in Advance for the answer & I did do a search on here and sohc4.net with no luck before posting this.
I was wondering if buying a new Regulator and Rectifier would make a difference on my CB500. As far as I can tell my old ones work fine but noticed that there are better performing ones available with lifetime warranty (Oregon Motorcycle Parts). Any info would be appreciated on this.
Re-adjusted the valves today and It sounds so much better this time. The ping is gone and she sounds smooth ! I think I was a tad more patient this go around. The go no go tech works well and I wish I would have known about it the first go around. I guess it would be to hard for them to add that...
PJ thats the way I did it before, but I didn't use the go no go technique, which totally makes since. I read about it last night. I will attempt to do it again today & knowing I did it right the first time is good news.
Brad I will still need a couple rocker valve caps. I'm thinking 2 but its...
When adjusting valves on a cb500F should it only take 1 360 rotation at TDC (T 1-4 mark) to do them all or are you supposed to also line up TDC (T 2-3 mark) and adjust those to ? I did them before and have read from two different manuals that both give different info on getting the job done...
I've heard really good things about Krylon's rust tough spray paint, but I dont know if it would work well on parts that maintain a constant hot temp. They do have a special Spray for BBQ & Stoves that may withstand the constant heat ? Heres a link...
I think I may have found an exact fit for the CB500F. Link is below.

I think my battery is about shot & I was thinking about switching to a AGM maintenance free battery. I found some on westcobattery.com that fit the CB750 but can't seem to locate one for the CB500. Does anyone have one on their 500 or know if the battery from a cb750 will fit a cb500 ? Any info...
I'm looking for a New or used unbroken Clutch Lifter Rod for a Honda Cb500 1971-73. I just discovered while changing my clutch cable (that was about to break) that my current lifter rod is broke. It looks like it may still work because the break is a super clean cut ? I think the part has been...
