Good to know. With brazing, can I cover the whole area I pounded on? If it wicks like you say, that sounds the most optimal. + it may fill other tiny cracks I may have created.

Just to rule it out, has a compression test been done? If i missed that, my bad. In my opinion, that should be addressed first. You can guess & follow calculations for jet sizes all day long, but if you have leaky rings or valves you'll get nowhere.
