TATTOOs... Lets see what ya got!!..

Re: TATTOO's... Lets see what ya got!!.. Just looked through the entire thread. Alot of nice work in here. Here are mine. Still need to get the shadowing done on the right arm and a little more color added to match the left but I am getting there.

New member budget build CB400A Cafe/Brat or what ever it turns into

Yeah the forks can't be lowered in the trees on these. They bolt to the upper plate/ triple tree and only slip through the lower tree. Bars look good. I had a set of those on an old KZ400 I used to have.

It actually wasn't too bad. I installed a throttle lock before we left and with intermittent use it made it much more tolerable. Can't wait to see the new bars on there.

I ended up just making my own clip ons. I was too cheap to buy them and had the steel laying around anyway. I almost flipped the stock bars over and bolted them down but I didn't like how high the bar holder stood up off the triple tree.

Looks good. I like the recycled front fender for the rear. Are you going to run clip-ons or clubmans or just drag bars? I ended up cutting up the old handle bar bracket to remount the speedo lower. I also just flipped the headlight brackets to lower the headlight.

Looks somewhat familiar to me. ;) I am thinking I am going to trim the rear tabs off the frame and just do a hoop for the seat next. Looks like some good progress though. If you plan on doing a different exhaust the jets I am currently running are a 112 main and 85 secondary. With this I was...

Did a little more work on her this week. Still playing with carb jetting but I am closing in on it. Made a side mount plate holder and wrapped the header pipes for a little hotrod look. Nothing too much, been busy putting miles on it. More to come later.

    '78 CB400TII "Lucy" (NEW PIPES!!!)

Re: '78 CB400TII "Lucy" (idle woes) I have been playing with the carbs on my 78 Cb400A, which should be the same and this is where I am as of right now. With the stock air box and the same Emgo mufflers as you have I am currently running a 112 main jet and a 92 secondary jet. I have the Idle...

Yeah but everyone was drunk enough to not notice. That and it was the closest thing I had to make the general look.

Left them long just for you. ;) They are only 12" from the fork but feel pretty good where they are.

Well after a few more long nights in the shop we are on the road again. New tail and turn lights, new 18t front sprocket (from 17 stock), cleaned up chain and just good cleaning on reassembly. Flipped the headlight brackets and remounted the speedo too. Not too bad for 2 to 3 hrs a night for a...

Just a quick update. Front forks on, wiring installed, clip-on's made, back up on the lift and getting ready to finish up all the little things. Hope to be riding by the end of the weekend, but we will see.

Bobber built a while ago, but never posted

So how much time with the TIG did it take to add on to all the cooling fins? :o That alone completely changes the look of the bike. Very, very nice work.

Here is todays progress. Got the rims cleaned up. Rear put back together, and front forks on temporarily. Tomorrow I will do the bars like I wanted to do today before I got sidetracked. Looking for some opinions. I was thinking of doing the spokes of the rims in wrinkle black like the...

Going to keep the stock box for now. I have read some of the guys here are having problems trying to tune them right after putting pods on. Still looks pretty good with the stock box cleaned up though. I work fast because I want to get riding. ;D

    78 CB400A "Stepchild"

Well there I was, sitting at home wondering what I was going to do for a bike to ride. Sold my last one to ease financial burdens in the household and have been with out a ride for a year now. Looked around the CL for a month or so but didn't see anything for real cheap so I called my friend to...
