I posted a pic of the carb, and 1 and 2 both are the same. Side note my 550k1 only has two jets. a slow and a main but its not a CV stlye carb.

Could be the reason my bike isn't running? I believe thats where the secondary or primary Main jet goes. However the passage doesn't seem to lead anywhere or have threads?

I'm working on a 83 450 Nighthawk and want to ditch the stock exhaust, looking to build a custom 2 into 1 with a Yoshi pipe. Some help I need is pipe sizing, length, things to avoid. Also I want it to sound nice, I heard a Mac 2 into 1 on youtube and i was less than impressed. Am I going to be...

No, I figured its all stock, there shouldn't be a need to.

didn't notice any holes in the diaphrams. all soft meterial Orings and such have been removed prior to toluene soak.

Stock jets and airbox. welding tip cleaner, and carb clearner, now soaking in toluene. and tip cleaner. I don't have an ultrasonic(would love to get one though)

Got some more work done... shortened the hoop and welded battery tray Haven't got to de-tabbing yet, and haven't installed rear sets; but I need to ride her. so they'll have to wait.

Parts left over from my cafe build. Parts still up for grabs..... Make me a offer on everything. Side covers - perfect and painted Front fender - nice shape rear fender and taillight - nice shape Oh yeah and a Tach with no face.

Thanks for the info, I havent cut anything off yet. but to make room for the battery I'll need to cut the passager support hoop. however I kinda like where my signals are, on the factory ears, so i'm thinking maybe just a straight tube across just in front of the signals.

This may sound like an odd question. But is a rear hoop necessary?
