Currently im doing the wiring for a 1985 honda vt500c that im bobbing. i found that switch on dcc and really liked it so i grabbed my wiring diagram and started to see how i could wire this sucker up to my bike. i noticed some things that i didn't quite understand on the diagram from what i...
Thanks for all the advice teazer. You do have a good point about it all.. aside from spending all that money on things that will improve it slightly stock is always better and I think one thing at a time instead of dropping all that cash is the way to go.....the whole principle of these bobbers...
what im trying to do is to turn the bike into a reliable bike it was sitting in a backyard for 4 years and most of the harness is falling apart. the bike is going to be my main mode of transportation and i want to update what i can ( and to make it look nice) especially to smaller concealable...
ok so after a lot of sitting down and thinking it over ive decided to go with the nology coils over dyna i like the price a lot more and can get the same reliability as dyna. my question is after changing to these coils do i have to run the hotwires they have for the coils, or will going with...
I'm using some stainless steel pipe to weld and make the intake to the heads and I'm going to weld a flange on the carb side to bolt it on I'm just stumped when it comes to giving support to the carb the bike doesn't gave screw holes on the engine because its not stock with a single carb is it...
i have a 1985 honda shadow vt500c and i recently bought a mikuni tm 36 for it. my question is how do i mount it correctly so it doesnt fall off. the bike was stock with dual keihin carbs under the tank. i can make a snorkel that will fit between the heads and convert it from a 2 to 1 carb setup...
im just trying to learn new ways to achieve the same result. this is my first build and im pretty much going in blind just trying to ask as many questions as possible
the stock harness is falling apart and im not even going to use alot of stuff im cutting out the turn signals, the whole fuse box ( going to use in line fuses)the indicator lights on the dash, im just wiring for as bare as possible. i hope to start this as soon as i get new coils and spark plug...
as of right now the bike runs off two dual tower coils to 4 plugs....... hypothetically speaking what if i went with 1 dual tower coil and connected it to 2 plugs (one in each cylinder).....would it affect the engine any
So after alot of research ive learned my bike is a "wasted spark" system........ so correct me if im wrong. In layman's terms it pretty much means that when the piston is on the exhaust stroke the second spark plug in the head fires for nothing? if this i so could i get away with running only...
And from my understanding to get optimum performance its best to get the whole package the trigger the cdi and the coils if I can make my bike a reliable everyday driver I will spend the extra money. And if not dyna are there other routes that I can go to upgrade my ignition system
I really want to put one on my bike but my concern is fitment.....from what I've researched these things are specific to certain bikes. I'm not limiting myself to just plug and play I can do a custom wiring job its just i don't know if it will fit in the crankcase or if it would even work on the...
Well don't I feel.dumb.....I've been going crazy looking for the pulse generator and never thought to look in the right crank case behind the clutch assembly....can a dyna ignition fit there
It's an 85 Honda shadow vt500c I have three yellow wires coming off the stator but those connect to my reg/rec should there be another wire coming out of there also
