ok so after a lot of sitting down and thinking it over ive decided to go with the nology coils over dyna i like the price a lot more and can get the same reliability as dyna. my question is after changing to these coils do i have to run the hotwires they have for the coils, or will going with...
i have a 1985 honda shadow vt500c and i recently bought a mikuni tm 36 for it. my question is how do i mount it correctly so it doesnt fall off. the bike was stock with dual keihin carbs under the tank. i can make a snorkel that will fit between the heads and convert it from a 2 to 1 carb setup...
So after alot of research ive learned my bike is a "wasted spark" system........ so correct me if im wrong. In layman's terms it pretty much means that when the piston is on the exhaust stroke the second spark plug in the head fires for nothing? if this i so could i get away with running only...
ive posted on this before and just wanted to clarify some things. the tm doesn't take a push pull cable right? and the carb relies soley on the vacuum to close the throttle?
So I've seen this exhaust on several projects around the internet and really want to do it on my bike ...... Is it a different set of pipes or is it stock pipes rearranged? Will I have to do some cutting? Here is a pic of what I've done with my stock pipes and the look I want to go for now
Ive seen alot of people putting these ignitions on their bikes and i just wanted to get opinions on them, and as far as fitment goes, are they universal? bike is an 85 shadow vt500c
ok so im converting my 1985 shadow vt500 into a bobber and i want to lose the bulky stock coils and go with a more modern compact set of coils. my manual says that the stock coils are 3ohm. im really interested in the dyna coils but im having a hard time finding dual fire witht the same...
Ok so after going through some build threads on here it seems that the only way to get a clean look for the bike is to pull the engine to paint the frame. Now I have never done this before so if anyone has advice I would appreciate it. Any tricks to getting the engine out smoothly , and how...
just had a crazy idea but im going to ask anyways...... if my bike came stock liquid cooled would there be consequences to removing it all and going air cooled. bike is a 1985 shadow vt500c
I recently began work on a 1985 honda shadow vt500c and the idea originally was to turn it into a bobber but i saw what Dime city cycles did with the vt800 and the frame setup seems similar to mine now im caught in between. Do i go bobber or do i go cafe racer i think the bike has the potential...

Ok this is from a previous topic i posted just trying to keep the title relevant to the content. Im trying to make a custom wiring harness for my 1985 honda shadow vt500c bobber

Alright, so im finally getting back to working on my bike. Its a 1985 honda shadow vt500c im in the process of bobbing it and stripped the bike of pretty much everything electrical. i was going to build my own custom wire harness from scratch but as it turns out i couldnt figure it out for the...
Looking for some advice.....I want to upgrade my 27 year old stock coils for more modern ones. My manual says the stock resistance is 3 ohms so my question is would going up to 5 ohms damage the bike or have any negative effects?
