Yep, the CBR tail is huge. It needed about 2 inches taken out of the middle to fit right. Buddy wanted $75 for it and it was too much to spend for me to F up so I found the R1 tail for less than $30. No worries about cutting it in half now. It will work out well when I'm done with it. I can...
Hey fellas, haven't been over here in a while. Got an email about some site changes and thought I'd check them out. Since I'm here, may as well share what I've been doing on my fighter. It's not your typical fighter per say since it's a '72 CB500 but it doesn't really fit into the cafe dept...
Zixxerboy, you finally found a use for MC Hammers old pants! Seriously though, did you cover the fabric with fiberglass resin? I could see some uses for that in a slightly less flamboyant fabric.
Looks good man! Just like everyone else, I love Benjis stuff just not the prices. Looking forward to finished pics with the sidecovers. Any engine mods to go with the sweet looks?
Boss said today that our bonuses should come in on the 3rd week of Feb (I've been waiting forever). Come up with a ballpark price for the whole front and if you still have them when the check gets here, we'll haggle. Where abouts are you? Shipping might be a pain in the ass.
Oh and for anyone who is looking for a metal source, the prices on http://www.metalsdepot.com/ are just a little bit cheaper than what I paid. Nice selection too. I haven't ordered anything from them though so buyer beware.
Pre-polished?? ::) More like pre-scratched. I was a little disappointed but no big deal. I scratched it even more when cutting. It cuts easier than the steel plate but still fairly hard to get through with a jigsaw. I got the shifter side cut out last night. Now I have to do some...
Got the plate today. $25 for a small 4x12" plate! Next time, I'll order the shit myself online and have it shipped directly to my door. I'm hoping to get started tonight.
I work for a manufacturing company that makes mostly aircraft parts among other things. I may be able to find someone willing to do a little "government work". They'll need the files. Beyond that, I'm using the software to create a perfectly scaled template for cutting the prototype set...
Thanks for the offer rudy but I'd say I'm doing ok. Here is the shifter side. I haven't added a hole for the clevis on top because I don't know what diameter it might be. Better to drill it later.I'm going to add a small tab to the top of the brake lever so I can attach the hook on the light...
I'm almost tempted. There's just something I like about the single headlights on our older bikes though. If I had a naked sportbike, I'd probably be all over it.
