    First time motor tear down

It will probably be necessary to have one of these impact drivers on hand for engine cover screws.

    CL200 carb tuning

If you snap the throttle open the bike will spudder and die because it causes a sudden loss of vacuum which prevents fuel from being sucked into the airstream. It sounds like your slides are still out of sync and the carbs need to be vacuum balanced. I just did both today on my CB200 and it...

    Airfilters, are they necessary?

I bought these UNI filters for my CB200: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0022ZGRIU/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i00 model: UP4125 They mold to the frame where they need to but still hold their shape well and look good on the outside.

    CB160 - First Build (AKA - Born at Brewer's)

Everyone has their own methods... If the tank is heavily rusted - I've had really good luck with using the electrolysis method [Google it]. I've also had really good luck with the POR-15 tank sealer kit. If Just the top-end is locked up you probably won't have to split the cases. Try to free...

    MGD's 1975 CB200T

Re: 1975 CB200T Milwaukee Looks great! My bike was totally beat when I got it at that mileage. It looks like your headgasket is weeping a bit?

Battery keeps going dead/ Oil leaing out of the aftermarket crankcase breather

Regarding the oil - it sounds like you just over-filled. Are you reading the dipstick or measuring the oil? My bike takes much less oil to read full on the dipstick then what my manual says is required to fill the crankcase.

    Honda CB200 Problems

Maybe make a list of all the stuff you've done. There are a LOT of possible causes that I can think of. I just skimmed your build thread again...I see you had the top end done up with new pistons and rings but did you take a look at the valves? Did you lap them in or see if they were leaking...

    Honda CB200 Problems

I have the same issue with my CB200 and have come across a handful of others across the net who are similarly stumped. I'm determined to get it sorted this year. Try cleaning your plugs and swapping your ignition wires around. If the problem switches to the other cylinder, the coil is...

    splitting cb 750 case

'Hondabond' is the modern equivalent to what they are referring to. 'Hondabond', 'Threebond 1194', and 'Yamabond' are all the same thing. I can't remember the exact process, but the stuff comes in a tube and is of a very thin consistency. I spread it on my case half with a small paint brush.

    Easy Out? are you sure?

I have never had success with an easy out. Heat will be your friend on this one. whip out the MAP or oxy / acetylene torch and heat the area around the screw. Get it nice and hot and try cranking it out with the vise grips. The 'weld a nut on' trick works by the same principal...heat. If you...

My CB200 Build - AKA "Incognito" - UPDATE MARCH 21 - VIDEO PROOF THAT IT LIVES

Re: My CB200 BUILD - THE END IS NEAR...... DRIVE DATE DELAYED This is the order of assembly: HEAD - FLAT GASKET [that you cut] - PLASTIC INSULATOR - O-RING [sits in manifold groove] - MANIFOLD - O-RING [sits in carb groove] - CARB If you haven't already come across this - you can...

My CB200 Build - AKA "Incognito" - UPDATE MARCH 21 - VIDEO PROOF THAT IT LIVES

Re: My CB200 BUILD - THE END IS NEAR - PROJECTED DRIVE DATE JUNE 3 I stole these photos from eBay listings. Here are the original CB200 manifolds: What's nice about them is that the center section is rubber so there is no thermal bridging between the head and carb. They also have vacuum...

My CB200 Build - AKA "Incognito" - UPDATE MARCH 21 - VIDEO PROOF THAT IT LIVES

Re: My CB200 BUILD - THE END IS NEAR - PROJECTED DRIVE DATE JUNE 3 The bike is looking really good! I just began working on my CB200 [again] last weekend. I'd be a little worried about this: Those look like CB175 carb manifolds with no plastic insulator between the carb and head... I know...

    Walk of shame

Literally just happened to me about an hour ago. I knew it was going to happen - I was a block away from my house in a parking-lot doing some carb tuning...I think I ran out of gas. Only kinda embarrassing.

CB200 idle air screw [PE18 carb]

I went to adjust the air screw on both carbs and I noticed there was a trace of gas around the head of the screw. I removed the air screw and didn't see an o-ring or other gasket that would prevent an air leak. Is this correct or am I missing something in there? BTW: I rebuilt the carbs...

    74 cb200 piston rings

I just installed a set of pistons from the UK seller [seager-engineering] in my CB200. I wouldn't think twice before ordering another set if I needed it. Shipping was fast and reasonable. I looked around for someone in the states that had a set, but came up empty. also... anyone notice this...

    unusual cam wear?

What are your thoughts about this cam wear? I've been on the fence as to what to do about a top end on my CB200. I have a spare head thats in kinda rough shape that I'm trying to decide if it's worth keeping. Alternatively I've been eying this guy on eBay, which has everything I need for...

    '75 cb200t cafe build

The build is looking great! Where did you order the replacement cam chain from? I was thinking about replacing mine but I was worried about putting a new chain on old sprockets... as I've always heard your not supposed to do with a drive chain; any thoughts?

    CB200 head ... paperweight?

Great advice guys; just what I was looking for! @ Kopcicle I just assumed that you shouldn't try to grind the head mating surface yourself but it looks like people do it all the time. I'll either use your sharpening stone idea or one of the methods described here. I work in an architecture...
