    is this bike worth it

Looked at a 75 CB200 tonight. The usual wear and tear, around 4000 miles on it. Good tires....not sporty, but good shape. I road it and it drove and shifted OK. Definately needs cleaning up. Owner is looking to get $400. What are your thoughts...worth it? thank you, Steve

    The Thunder Toad Cometh

Super cool. Really enjoying this build. I think you should paint the front shocks black. That would really make this bike look mean.

    KZ440 cafe build

Thank you for the nice comment. The tail section looks a little rough yet, but after some grinding and some paint, I am hoping it cleans up the look some. Taillight will probably go with license plate on the left side of the bike. Either attached to the axle of off the side of the frame.

Wow, seat looks great. No wrinkles. To "Goo be Gone" might take care of that adhesive.

    KZ440 cafe build

quick question I started really cleaning the engine last night to prep for paint. Just as I thought, the previous owner used a bunch of gasket sealer to put the clutch cover on. Oil was leaking out all over. I made a new gasket today. What is the best way to put this back on? I have heard...

    KZ440 cafe build

seat and new helmet I will eventually replace the cardboard seat with some sheetmetal and leather. I will eventually build one with the style of the one below I built for my 500 bobber......different shape of course. Also picked up a new Blade helmet last week. Kind of different looking...

    KZ440 cafe build

tail section Tried to incorporate a little different tail design. Just bent some 1 inch tubing in some curves using BendTech Software (awesome stuff) and a Baliegh bender (great company) and started cutting and welding. I am happy with the look. Here is a shot of the stance. The bike...

more ideas Scrapped the struts idea and then found this pic love the looks of a drop seat so I photoshopped it to look like the bikes below: first attempt, mostly color changes second attempt with different seat and front fairing. Love the look, but want to get this ride going for the...

    KZ440 cafe build

initial ideas on rebuild I have been going around and around on what I want to do with this rebuild. First it was a bobber, then a cafe racer, then a drag type looking bike, now I do not know what it is turning into. It does not matter to me. All I know is that I need to get it done so I can...

    KZ440 cafe build

As mentioned in my "member intro" topic, I have been lurking for some time now. Last year I built the bobber pictured below. I have now started rebuilding a 1980 KZ 440. I picked up two of them last year. They both started but are in bad shape. I was hoping to make two bikes, but am now...

Thank you for the nice comments on the bobber. I teach Technology and Engineering so I am fortunate that I can use some pretty nice equipment. I still consider myself a rookie fabricator so working on old motorcycles is a fun way to hone my skills (welding, machining, design) to be a better...

Hello everyone, I have been lurking for a while now. What a great site. I am addicted for sure. I built the Honda CB500 bobber below last summer. Sold it and bought two 1980 KZ440 B's to build one good cafe racer. I am a teacher and school is done next week. I have finished the teardown...
