Well guys the gas cap luckily open with my padlock keys, so that's all good. The lock under the seat I hit with the drill and even though it was a bitch I funnily got the whole lock cylinder out. Which is fin cause I'll be grinding the whole tab there off anyways. Thanks for your input guys. Cheers
I believe it is replaceable although i haven't looked because i plan on switching to a single seat and battery box set up so i wouldnt even need to have it lock anymore, i think the consensus is in, looks like tomorrow night im drilling it. Thanks guys, i'll let you now how it goes.
Yea i thought about a locksmith, only problems are 1)not tryin to spend a bunch of money and 2) looks like someone already took a hammer and pick to it, so i dont know if that would work if the lock has been tampered with. So it looks like I'm gonna be drilling it out, I'll still wait a bit and...
So i just picked up a 1978 Kawasaki KZ650 SR from a buddy for only $300, only problem is he lost the keys about 2 years ago. so now i cant open up under the seat to get at the battery or actually just remove the seat, cant open the gas tank either. So since im a n00b i thought i'd ask you guys...
Hey guys, i've lurking the site for a long time and finally i got my buddy to let go of his 1978 Kawasaki 650srD for $300. Now i have riden this bike before but not in a couple years and he's had it sitting in his garage for at least 2 years. So im new to building/working on bikes but i'd really...
yea, i was thinking lowering it about 2inches front and rear, if my forks allow for it. i want to ride it as a daily for a short commute, about 5 miles either way.
Thanks that was really helpful, If im lowering the front end, do you think i can just slide my forks up? or would they then hit the bars? also do you think i could fit a tire that wide on my stock wheels, i know your probably not sure on my bikes specs but generally is that possible? im sorry im...
Thanks for the help Tim. i'll be sure to use those from now on.
And alphadogchoppers, i kinda gathered that bud, i was looking for a little bit more detailed advice, if anyones ever used my specific bike, pointers, etc. but thanks anyway.
So i recently picked up a 1979 kawasaki 650sr from a buddy for $300, it was running like two summers ago and i have riden it. This isn't my first bike but it is the first bike im building/customizing. i'm fairly good with cars just never really customized a bike. (not my bike but only pic i...
in the photo it looks like he's running a modern front end and everything stock out back. i'll look into your suggestions. thanks again for the help. i'd really like to get the look of the anodized front forks, but hell i think that'll be a little out of my skill set i suppose. damn shame.
Fuck! well that sucks. I just really love the look of those new forks and brakes. if i ran a new wheel with that then i wouldnt have to deal with the wheel spacer and axle? could i possibly run a new style back wheel to match? again thank you for your help. im just trying to lay out a game plan...
