Fixed it. The axle holders weren't torqued down enough

So all the wiring is hooked up and the lights are working. I went to start the bike and the solenoid clicks but there is no power going to the starter motor. Looks like it's time for a new one. I also just found out that my shifter seal is leaking badly. I really need to get this done before I take it to college in a week

Oh and I forgot to mention the exhaust is wrapped and installed. It was a real pain in the ass to get it on because all of the pipes were about a quarter inch off center in random directions

Michigan State. It's nice because my grandma lives on campus so I can keep it in her garage

Nice. One thing to be careful of on any college campus in general is the pure stupidity of some ppl. There were several times I walked out of the apt or class to find some idiot straddling my vintage bike or getting photos on it. Girls wanted photos too which sounds fun until they are wasted and knocking things over. I still rode it on campus but I had to be very careful where I left it. You have put a lot of time into it and I'd hate to seem some idiot tip it over or damage it. Enjoy the college experience!

I tried to start the bike tonight and no luck. At first the solenoid wasn't working, so I took it apart and cleaned the inside and put some dielectric grease on the contact points. The starter motor turned over but it wouldn't fire up. I pulled the plugs and found out 2 and 3 aren't getting a spark. So I guess the left coil is bad. I can't stand the thought of spending more money on this bike but I guess it's going to have to happen. I'm also still having trouble with the turn signals. They are very dim and still won't blink even after getting a 2nd electronic flasher

Sounds like you need to spend some time on the wiring harness...bad grou d after you painted the frame maybe or some corrosion somewhere.

Just read through your whole thread. Great stuff man! Keep it up! I just started my first cafe project not too long ago... '73 CB750. Will hopefully have it running by this weekend as soon as i have a few loose ends mailed to me

if you have a bad coil and don't feel like buying another you can have one of my cb550 that I won't be using anymore, all you have to do is drive up to 22 and hayes

I might take you up on that. I just have to make sure it really is toast first

As of right now my new harness is being ground to the engine so I don't think it's a grounding problem but there is a good chance it is corrosion

The new reg/rec is grounded through the block connector. From what I see the green universal ground is the only one that's needs to be manually grounded. I'll be cleaning connectors tomorrow to see if it makes a difference

You may want to check your signal bulbs wattage. If it's an analog flasher unit it will require a certain amount of total wattage to flash.

She wants to start so bad. Both cylinder 1 and 4 are firing when I try to start the bike but it seems like 2 and 3 are still having the spark problem. Any ideas why a coil would go bad after working less than a year ago? Also the gold chain is on.

So I plugged in my original electronic flasher and for some reason it worked perfectly. Thank you Honda Gods demo below
