1975 CB750 SOHC with 16,022 original miles NO RESERVE!!!!...

hate these ads... no reserve ??? dude...to place 1 bid..its $3000,,, so hence to me...you have a $3000 reserve...

NO RESERVE WOULD BE STARTING AT $1 ... good luck on the sale though

Well to be fair there is a difference between a minimum bid and a reserve, at least on eBay. A reserve is not known to bidders, so you never know if your bid will be good enough till after you've actually bid. With the minimum bid, you know what it will take to get into the game at least, and that the seller will accept that as a bottom price for the bike.

semantics perhaps.. but when I see no reserve ad and a 3k min bid.. to me its a 3k reserve...

if it were a true no reserve..i should be able to bid say $900..what ever..

Yes a reserve is a price that I could have put in there to make sure I got someone to buy at $3000. So I could have started at $1 instead I wanted to be upfront with people for what I wanted for the bike. Here is another to rile you up a bit though.

yeah but you are wrong in thinking that the starting bid is a reserve
if it is no reserve what should the starting bid be ?
if a seller runs an auction with a reserve ebay charges a % fee for said reserve
so indeed it is a no reserve auction when it has no reserve
