Hi everybody, i'd like to show you my bike.
It was a 1980 CB400N, customized into a scrambler.
I gave it the name SHUANGXI, that means "double happiness".
There is a story behind this name. In 2014 me and my wife where struggling to have a child; we also started the IVF program but with no success. In that winter, my mother-in-law gave us two original Chinese vases with the symbol that you can see painted on the tank. That symbol means "double happiness"; after a while, my wife got naturally pregnant with two twins. My sons are now 4yo, but my mother-in-law passed away two years ago, so i decide to honor her by inserting something that will always meku us remember her.
Coming back to the bike...
I swapped the tank with a CB500 that i found from a guy living next to me. My original tank was full of rust while the new one is rust free on the inside.
Also the back frame was in preety bad condition, so i cut if of and re built it.
Changed the two back shocks, new tires, renewed the front fork, new seat, new tachometer, new front bars, new exhausts, removed the airbox and istalled two pods filter...
My mechanic finished by itself the bike a last year, while here in Italy we were all in lockdown due to the Covid19.
However, here are the pics.
What do you think?
Best regards,
Marco
