Hey I have a 1982 Yamaha xj650 maxim and Im going to turn into a bobber. but was wondering if anyone could give me any tips because Im new to this and Im 16 but its something Ive been wanting to do so any comments are welcome about this. thanks richie
For the right amount of money anything can be made to fit.
The seca tank will be direct swap but is more along the lines of a cafe style tank with knee dents.
However with the right paint i think it could look bada$$ on a hardtail.
Kind of a crossover look
If you haven't already, check out xjbikes.com. Not only is it a great resource if you've got any technical issues, but a lot of the guys on there have bobbed their bikes as well, including some of the shaftie models.
Good luck to you. I've got a 550 Maxim that I'm working on as well so I'll be keeping an eye on your build.
