I am taking the ERC again at Allstate Insurance Center in Northbrook June 6th. I am going to make a habit of it, my skills get rusty over winter.

Thanks for this info, I signed up today however I am on "Standby Seating", I am going to send the payment today and see what happens. I signed up to attend classes at Morton College in Cicero, IL. Not having a motorcycle license is what is holding me back from riding.

Standby is usually somewhat safe. I heard that for the most part, a "Confirmed" person shows up 5 minutes late, or has improper gear, etc and is kicked out, making standbys very happy!

BTW Cafe, you don't have a license?

Nope, I don't a have motorcycle license, driving yes, I usually just go around the block or the HS parking lot to practice. I did have backup plan if I were to get pulled over by police "I didn't know I was required to a MC license for a bike that has very low cc's, this bike has a moped engine and doesn't go fast" I am hoping that excuse works, but I think most coppers hate those wheelie popping crotch-rocket whipper snappers and they will give me a break and probably laugh at me for riding a 40yr bike.

What is the recommended gear? Safety glasses and a DOT approved helmet?

From the website:
You must bring the following items to all class sessions:

Bring the following items:
Valid drivers license or instruction permit
Sturdy, over-the-ankle footwear (not cloth or canvas)
Long pants (heavy material with straight legs)
Long-sleeved shirt or jacket
Full-fingered gloves
Eye protection (glasses, goggles or face shield).

My buddy back in college rode for about a half year on a CB600F without a license without any problems. Its funny because a week after getting his license he was clocked by a cop going 95 in a 65 zone.

jeez that stuff goes fast. Me and 2 buddies signed up and earliest class left is in Oct.

Zoinks!! I just registered on standby just this week, for the last week of May and first week of June 2009. I send my $20 fee and I already got confirmed, but I am still on standby. I am going to try to see if Ic an get earlier then that.
