I think I'm one of few that actually like comstars. I have a set of spoke wheels from my 79 CB750k that I'll trade you for your comstars (as long a its a direct swap). The spokes are a bit rusty an the rims have a few rust spots, they're probably good candidates for a rebuild. If interested hit me up and we'll make a deal.
Sorry I took so long, but bike work came first. Here are a few snaps of the rear wheel (dimensions included). The spokes appear to be restorable, theyre not nearly as bad as they look, surface rust? I wasnt able to get a pic of the front, but its noticibly better than the rear. The front is a 19. I'm running outta time to decide what to do with them!
Thanks, man. Can you also get me the inside diameter of the bearings? I'll check that against what I have and if it's a match, I think we're good to go.
I wouldn't like to pour water on your deal but consider this.
Unless the swap is for drum braked rear wheels which is a straight swap thats OK. If your swapping drum for disc brake then wheel swap is a straight bolt in but the torque arm brackets are different, drum on bottom disc on top and you cant just swap the swing arms as the drum braked one is 14mm and the disc braked 16mm Pivot bolt. Plus the foot rest brackets are different between the drum and disc braked models. It can be done I did it on my build disc braked FA to drum braked Kz rear wheel. not straight forward and needs some fabrication.
Front is a drop in as well but the KZ only has one disc as opposed to the FA having two. Caliper mounts on the forks are the same on both.
Update: just seen your build thread Sonier and you have a comstar wheeled K so should be a straight swap
