Another sandcast cb750 auction. Guesses on final $$$??

"In the age of information, ignorance is a choice
I found another newly listed sandcast cb750 with a good history and pretty clean with lower miles. Clean for not being touched in 40 years. (not my bike or auction)

It has been listed for less than 4 hours on ebay and already has bids up to $4550.00.

I doubt that it will go for the $60k++ that the other DTT members went for (ended early and went to a museum, last bid was around that)

My guess on this one is $25,000.

Anyone else want to place a guess?

Hello Honda collectors.
Very rare, low production number 1969 Honda CB750 Sandcast motorcycle stored in garage for the last 40 years.
Frame CB750-1000889, engine CB750E-1000352.

I'm selling bike with my sister in-law, her husband, (deceased), bought the bike new from his uncles Honda dealership.
Nothing has been done to the bike in 44 years. It is as it was when new with exception of 40 years of dust & dirt from storage.
The local vintage bike shop, Checkered Past, in Galesburg Michigan, freed the slides without removing the carbs, which were remarkable clean, hung a external gas tank and got it to run.We turned it off immediately and did nothing else to the bike. This is a very original piece of Honda history. Everything on the bike is as it was when it came from the Honda factory.

The two Ward brothers, Jerry and Bob drove from Michigan to Port Townsend, Washington in a drive away car, where their uncle owned Port Townsend Honda and Dive Shop, they assembled the bikes, including a luggage rack, and rode back to Michigan along Rt.2 across the Rocky Mnts. and Northern Plains, through the upper peninsula of Michigan across the Mackinaw bridge and south to Detroit. Bob's 750 was totaled later that year when a VW beattle turn left in front of him.

The bike is all original with minor rust and pitting on chrome, the tank will need cleaned inside, the seat is in great shape with no rips, the exhaust is original, unstamped, with no dents, rust, or holes, including baffles. The right side cover is broken, see pic. Put a battery in it and all electrical worked the only problem with the electrical is the starter button is missing, used a small screwdriver and starter turned the motor over.
We left this bike as we found it allowing the next owner to do as they please with this piece of Honda history. Collect and show it as it was found with the patina, unmolested and all original or restore it, your choice.

Look at the pic's, I will answer all questions, email, text, or phone calls. Feel free to come inspect the unit we will pick you up at the Kalamazoo airport or give directions where the bike can be seen.
Several local vintage Honda experts have inspected the bike and confirmed that all is original as it was when manufactured.

Bike is sold as is without any warranty spoken or given.
All shipping is the responsibility of the buyer.

Comes with a clear title and two keys.

Don't miss out on your chance to own a true unmolested piece of Honda greatness. Bid often and bid high, very obtainable reserve.
Randall 269-532-3373 call with questions if I don't have the answer, I will get it.

Check my other auction out--1984 Honda VF1100S Sabre V65 with only 600 miles, like brand new.

Wow... I was $100.50 too short. ;D ... Damn close though and 25g for an essentially "barn find" cb750 is ridiculous.

Checkered Past is the shop I go to so that CharlieT can make fun of me. I can now say that I sat on a $25K CB750.

The seller had a $19K cash offer before deciding to put it on eBay, and we thought she was absolutely nuts to turn it down. Sometimes you gotta go for that bird in the bush. ;)

And if you thought that one was nuts, check this out:

Holy shit that's crazy!! Only on there for under a day in a 10 day auction and almost 100 grand!

The story and the photos are amazing!. A preproduction prototype. 1 of only 4 made in 1968... Nice piece of motorcycle history that will probably never be for sale again. The other 3 colored preproduction prototypes are probably in museums or collections that will never see the sun.
Thanks for sharing Rich!

That one is a bit more special than all the others.

One of the four was destroyed, one, nobody has ever seen since 68, the other has been in a box for 25+ years.

If I was the guy that had the one apart in boxes, I think I'd put it back together now.

Not that I don't believe you but it wound be nice to save and/or bookmark that info for future reference. Do you have the sources for that stuff?

 I thought I read the whole thing. Oops. Must've skimmed over that part.
