Backfire Motorcycle Night 6

Been Around the Block
Backfire Motorcycle Night is an event for anyone into vintage cafe racers, ratbikes, vintage Japanese & European motorcycles that’s been happening in Seattle since August of 2008. Kind of a long time coming, but this event surely brings out some of Seattle’s best. Every one has been held at the Ballard Station & The Bit Salloon. It was my first time attending, and for a newbie just getting into vintage bikes and wrenching, I felt like a kid in a candy store.

Here a few pics from the event:

(compliment)

Punched out motor?
Yes its a 849cc kit from Cycle X. , The head was ported and polished, The Cam was the biggest I could get, The spings and valves are all new, The electronics are all updated to Dyna S I believe along with the coils at 3 ohms. The cyclinder studs were replaced with heavy duty ones (a flippen bitch if you have ever tried it) and the clutch springs were changed to HD as well. So was the cam chain and all new tention parts. If I coulded the chrome on the engine its over half the cost of the bike in just parts and chrome. Somewhere in the $4500 range. I only have about 350 miles on it so its still building power but as it sits right now its VERY fast. I have a KZ 900 that its holds with no problems.

For the guy looking for the look. The paint is a two stage with a base black and flatteners in the clear coat. The pin strips were by Skip in Redmond and the powder coated wheels were done at Art Brass.

Could you give me the paints codes for the black/clear and flatteners?
No idea, just told my painter how I wnated it and he pulled it off for me. I do know he uses PPG and all you should really have to do is ask for the flattener and decide how much you want to use. I suggest doing some panels to see what sheen you like best.
