Not much german love on this forum, so I guess I have to represent!

Ive had her for about 18 months now, given me tons of problems and has been such a money pit, but I love her anyways :)

These pics are a bit old, but nothing has changed as all my money that doesnt go to fixing her, goes to my cb350.

Oh I'm all about the german cars. I've got a 325 that my wife is currently driving the kids around in.

what generation is the 3 series? I guess I like them all, but Im particularly fond of the original e30.. You should post up some pics!

I have 3 cars on my "next up" list:

datsun 620 pickup
bmw 135i
bmw e30 325is

Another BMW fan here: '76 R90/6, '84 K75C, '90 325is (E30), two '96 M3's (E36) - a copper colored one that was my wife's, and my black one. Getting back in the mood to look for another - would love to find another nice E30.

1972 BMW 2002tii here. Golf yellow, second owner. I wish I had some good photos of it, but not as of today. I have respect for most European marques.

As far as your 5 series. my former boss has an 01 Dinan 5. Supercharged V8, intake, engine and trans remapping, exhaust, suspension. But, for what ever reason the original owner left the brakes stock! Don't get me wrong, they are pretty damn good for a stock 5 series, but lets be realistic, especially with what Dinan has to offer.

I have tried to follow Bimmers pretty closely, and many agree that the E39's and E36's will actually be collectible vehicles. I think BMW got it right with them, before they really passed over the the overly electronic, luxo side. I honestly can't see myself owning a current model, unless they do produce the 135tii, or I come into an obscene amount of money. Give me a "big six" and a 5 speed, and I will be a happy boy.

Also,if anyone comes across an E30 with the 2.3L six (it was gray market) buy it!!!

Later.

ya, my e39 has given me lots of problems, but Im pretty sure that Im in it for the long haul. Every morning I walk out my house and see her, Im like, "damn thats a sexy car." As for e36's, I honestly was never a huge fan, however the 4dr m3 is pretty fucking awesome to me for some reason.

And I agree to an extent that bmw went a little astray with its latest models.. but to be honest I pop wood everytime I see an e60 m5 or e90 m3. And even if they dont produce the tii, Id still like to own a 135i someday. They are just like an updated version of the mcoupe.

hear is a not so good pic of my e34 I had several e30 e34 e39 and e36's 17 or 18 total I think there the last on the good looking bmws, you got a great looking car

ya, all the mags seem to think that e39 and e36's will be thought of as classics and whatnot. I do agree that the e39 was the last of an amazing lineage of styling.. But while I think the new styling departed quite a bit from its heritage, I still have to admit that I think the e60 m5, e90 m3/335, and the 135i are tits. They are different, and dont quite compare to the e39, but they arent bad imo.

I like nothing but German cars although I do have a Toyota Tundra for a truck.

Right now the German fleet consists of a 1977 Porsche 924, 1979 Porsche 911SC, 1987 Porsche 924S (teen daughter's), 1987 Porsche 944 Turbo, 1992 E36 BMW 325i, 2000 VW Beetle (teen daughter's) and a 2003 BMW 330i sport (wife's daily driver). My '92 325i has 297,000 miles on it and the engine is basiclly untouched...runs like a top and I drive it 80 miles roundtrip to work most days.

Almost all of my cars were bought relatively cheap with issues that I fixed. My 911 got a whole new interior including headliner and I rebuilt the engine.

Nice car! I got rid of a 1998 540/6 speed sport about 7 months ago. It was black on black with 78K. Miss driving it, but not the problems. Probably will pick up an e30 or e36M project in the next year.

I just got rid of that e34 that I posted pic of . I traded it for a 4dr e30 with a engine swap and a 72 cb350 4

ya.. I was riding "clean" for about a month.. then the abs brake stability control lights went on, which Im pretty sure is just a faulty front wheel speed sensor.. and now the service engine light is on.. *sigh* in a week and a half Ill be done with school and wont have any mandatory commutes, so I can stop putting miles on her and try to tackle the problems one by one until shes in prime condition..

Since Im on such a tight (non existent) budget Im not really planning any mods yet until the car is in good shape. However my wheels are all chipping pretty bad ad have curb rash. So the only mod in the line up right now is to murder out the wheels.. grind/sand down the rash, wire wheel off the flaking paint, and paint them matte black. I cant say Im the biggest fan of the murdered out look, but I can appreciate it, and its better than wheels with a bunch of chipped paint :)
