February 2011 BIKE OF THE MONTH - NOMINATIONS!

There are some nice bikes nominated, but to me the one that best sums up what DTT is about is Diesel's Cb200. It was built here with lots of input from lots of people and it ran and had to be fixed and ran again.

It also captures that simple pleasures approach that I think epitomizes this forum.

It's a small bike and almost a budget build and best of all it's simple and clean looking and is a good way to cleanse the palette after last month.

A nice bike to clean the slate with so to speak.

Protocol Q. Should we keep this thread clean for nominations and move the discussion to that other thread or is it OK to discuss the nominees here?

Very well put Teazer.

I see no reason you can't express your opinion in both, as long as it stays civil.

Thanks guys, That means a lot and is exactly the way I feel about the build and what the forum is about. I did blow my budget but it was because the build asked for it and I struggled to make it happen. The bike isn't perfect but is the best bike I could build at the time and I think that is what counts!

Although I appreciate the nomination (I really do) and am humbled to have any bike I build in the BOTM, I decline. I do enjoy going to and voting on BOTM but not into it when I am in the mix. The past times my twin was in BOTM I never accepted the nomination except for the first time and did so hesitantly. I don't want to sound like a douchbag but I build my bikes for me to ride and enjoy and get plenty satisfaction posting pics in show and shine/build thread to show my work and reading responses. This site is great with some amazing, talented and artistic builders. It is one thing to build a great bike and another to make it art, I lack on the art side.

Some very deserving bikes in the mix this month and some more coming down the pipe in the build thread section. Looking forward to it. - tweakin
Modest much? I gotta say this bike is an amazing show of art. I would hang a magazine page of this in my basement......just saying!

So far confirmed in the running for votes will be:
moho
slice
Nemocb
Diesel450

Just a few more days before we get a voting thread up, if you want another bike up for the honors, get them up here! We have some very nice bikes in the mix now, should be a nice banner no matter the outcome!

Welcome. introduce yourself in the member introduction forum. good group here. typically BOTM nominees are bikes built here but not always. that is a good looking guzzi.

Just a refresher - this thread is for the nomination process only - when the voting thread is opened (soon I would think) then the gloves can come off and I wanna see people arguing FOR their choice. I don't want to read a single word of why you're NOT voting for some other bike - no negative ads :) Just convince us to vote for your choice.

The voting process is 100% democratic and no matter what bikes are nominated, be they bought built or from Mars, the voters get to choose the bike for the banner.
