Hey all,
anyone used fiberglass before? I want to make a fiberglass fender, using the original as a mould, but I have no clue about the thickness and if it won't crack...
Anyone?

grtz

hi
we have lots of experience in fibreglass manufacturing - thats what we do!
A couple of points i will make is firstly a front fernder in fibreglass will not be strong enough to stop fork flex & will crack (this effects the bikes handleing)so you will need a fork brace or the original metal mounting under the fender.
The other point is that the new part will only be as good as the mould which will only be as good as the original, any scratches or imperfections will be transferred across the to the new part, we paint & polish any part we will be making a mould from first.
For a braced front mudguard we use 3 layers of 300g chopped strand matting
which is fine.
any other help or advice just ask me
tony
