What better way to introduce ourselves here than to give something away?

Dunham Fabrication and Fiberglass Works will be having a contest open only to members of DTT. It's very simple, send us an email at DunhamFab@gmail.com telling us why you think you deserve a free seat pan, and we'll pick the best one (the one we like the best anyway) and build you a custom pan, just for you. Make sure you include your DTT username in the email so we can announce our winners and post pictures of our progress and completed product.

First winner will be chosen July 1st, so get your emails in!!

EDIT: (thanks for the heads up Tim) We are Located in Orange County, CA (Anaheim, 92806) The winner would need to either be able to bring us the bike for roughly an hour or two for measurements and to get a template drawn up, and then finally for fitting. If the winner is local enough we could be persuaded to come to you for these things if you're real nice and have some cold beer in the fridge ;)

Depending on response and reception (which we anticipate to be great) we will continue this on a monthly basis, that means we give away a free seat pan once a month!!!

Important details: In the future we will open this up to more locations and ship the seats but for the time being we would like to stay local so that we can ensure the ease of working with our winners to create a product that is practical and desirable for them, as well as be logistically able to have access to the bike for measurements and fitment. Also, we are NOT trying to sell ANYTHING. There will be no sales pressure involved, just a chance for us to support and give a little something back to the community that we are a part of. So, send us an email, if we pick yours you get a free seat pan, nothing to it.

Super cool of you man.
I hope to be able to participate when you go national 8)

Welcome to DTT.
Got a website?

SONICJK: Do we have a website?

That is an excellent question. Unfortunately the answer is no we don't. We are good at what we do but unfortunately what we do is NOT web design. We are a small local business that primarily has catered to automotive/marine fiberglass repair and fabrication, for example, we repair a lot of Jeep hard tops, Boat hull damage, build custom speaker pods/dash panels, etc for various applications. We do most of our business through word of mouth and like to let our reputation speak for itself in that regard. Thus far all the seats pans, fairings, etc that we have built (25-30 so far) have been for ourselves and friends and family, this will be our first venture into doing this for strangers. However, SONICJK, PM us with your details regarding your daily ride and maybe we can work something out to get you a seat pan made (for free), just a matter of getting some dimensions from you and some very specific measurements, it's all in the details. Just a little thank you for being the first responder ;)

Cool! Great idea and welcome to the site.

So just to be clear, it sounds like it's basically on the winner of the contest to make themselves and their motorcycle available to you at your location for the custom work - would be good to clarify that in definite terms and let people know more specifically where you're located.

If you have the ability to do metalwork I would suggest it, fiberglass is great but its messy sucky work and no matter how you slice it it just doesnt have the strength of metal. You're more than welcome to come down and see the shop, and I'll be posting pictures today of the seat we just made!

Would be interested to see some examples of your work. Welcome to DTT.

Thank you!! As soon as the seat is done, which will probably be tonight, I'll post some pictures, however, it probably won't be the kind of thing people on this site would be looking for. Since, understandably (cause if I live by one rule, its if I'm gonna have to get free stuff, it better be the good stuff), the only response we got to our contest was one person who wished they lived closer, then the next regular customer we got asking for a seat got it at cost of materials, but its a 2005 ZX10R so, not what you wanna see probably, I'll tell you this though it is a MUCH more complicated seat to make than anything I've ever made for my CB750's that's for sure. Either way, I'll post pictures as soon as it's done so you all can at least get an idea of what we can do here.

I'm way out in Michigan, or I'd have been more than happy to drop in. But I doubt I could get the time off to ride to the west coast. Maybe someday. /wishful thinking

This is the ZX10R tail section I finished today, unpainted, he didn't want to pay us to paint it but we couldn't let it leave this ugly so we threw a quick coat of black on it but it got too dark for pictures.

Sure! You can see pictures of the whole process here: http://dunhamfab.tumblr.com/

Looks good. I don't have the patience or skill for all that messy glass work.
