Good deal?

Im just kinda shocked you missed the most important step in starting a vintage 2 stroke but still managed a free plug
He said he was going through the engine after he confirmed it did not run. I then provided a step by step post to rebuild. I suggested all this after the fact he said it did not run. How did I miss it? Crank seals are included.

He would obviously discovered this doing a leak down. He had not at that point told us where he was going with the project, he may have intended to ride it as is, which at the very least, a leak down to see if seals where bad. It's obvious a 41 year old bike will have seals that at least partially leak, it's 41 old rubber.

You seem hung up on my DCC comment and think I am partners somehow with EC since I spent "so" much money with him. At least that's what I am taking away from it and you are a bit abrasive, I've seen quite a few of your post. Do you not care for people who spend money to do things right, instead of taking shortcuts? I mean it's just money, you can't take it with you.

I've been unemployed for 7 months, luckily I finished the bike before, when I made decent money. I now get a whopping $275 a week from the state. Forgive me for elaborating, I just get the vibe you have an issue with how much I spent, I built it myself, I had the extra cash to do a nice build. I did not pay anyone to build it for me. It's blood sweat and tears.

Here is the thing we get it you spent millions on your bike. Does it run? Better yet does it run like a 10k bike should. There is more to this than dropping names and showing off your fancy parts. If you dont want to come off as shallow, dont be shallow. Your posts more often then not mention money. Why is that? It just seems like your tring way to hard.

A guy ask a question about a r5, the fact that he asked tells me he is walking on new ground. so why assume he knows about crank seal failures i didnt see it mentioned on your check list so i said something. Relax

Great snag man. $300 was a steal. Like they said, a complete replacement of the seals is a must. Do you know what you'd like to do with it? Cafe? Restoration? No matter what you decide, there are plenty of very well versed RD fans here on DTT. Keep us posted.

Ya I am planing on doing a cafe project. I am a rookie at this stuff so I will start a thread for rebuilding the engine when I get it out of the bike, because I will probably ask quite a few questions and need some help along the way. What do you suggest I replace when I am rebuilding it?
