HB2860 - motorcycles & red light sensors/cameras in IL

Re: HB2860 - motorcycles & red light sensors in IL

This is fantastic news. Thanks for posting this. I used to just go, but with the friggin cameras everywhere there are some places where you just can't do that. I don't do much midnight riding anyway... but still

Thanks for posting Eric. So you can just stop and go anywhere in IL except Chicago, right?

No prob guys. You may go through an intersection or turn on red after waiting a minimum 120 seconds and if it's safe to do so. The new law includes bicycles as well.

Edit: I want to point out that at the moment, it's not law yet to wait the 120 sec. I have it on good authority that a trailer bill is in the works to make the 120 sec official. ABATE is recommending you wait the 120 sec so you are in habit of doing so when the trailer bill is passed.

The Governor included an amendatory veto message that was overridden. The amendatory veto message included the 120 sec wait time. Reason I believe it was overridden is because it would've also prevented right/left turns on red.
