alright fellas the time has come to throw in the towel and grab me a newer fully faired sport bike. my only request if you wish to make a suggestion is some sort of paint job or engine that makes the bike unique in some way or just a bike you dont see everyday. i have four options as of right now and im HEAVILY weaighing toward the first option. the only thing i ask is the price stays around $5000 other than that its free reign just keep it unique.

option one - Honda RC51
option two - Apprilia RSV1000 mille
option three (which really shouldnt even be an option but ive always loved them for some reason) - cbr1000rr Repsol edition
option four - 07 Honda vfr800fi interceptor (red white and blue paint job)

Daytona 675. Or a yamaha r1 from around 02. Best looking bikes ever imo.

IDK....just something about this bike that makes my willy wiggle.

Yup, same here. Either way, id own any of what you listed or my two suggestions in a second if the cash flow permitted haha!

RC51
D675
Early R1
I'd do the RC. Best looking bike out of Japan post 2000. They are awesome bikes and are super easy to make your own.

I've got an 04' Aprilia, and I absolutely love the thing. I would say to get 06' or newer in my opinion because the 04 and 05 had some electrical issues. (but that may cost you over your 5K so...) I had a buddy who owned the RC, it sounds like an alien ship if you ask me, but they are fast as snot in all the right places (like mine) I think it comes down to a few things as far as your choices go.

They are all stupid fast and enjoyable. The RC and APE are big twins, so the power is much lower in the rpms which also allows you to engine brake much more (not the low rpms thing, but the big twin thing). The CBR will be a completely different ride and those are really quick. I think it all depends on where you drive and how you drive. I've never actually ridden a VFR but I"ve only heard good things as far as the ride is concerned. I know everyone loves the Aprilia....but I'm biased ::)

ive got a lead on an 04 rsv1000 now. ive always loved the apprillia's cuz you never see them. if i had it my way id be getting a brand new bmw1000r but i cant justify 17k. if all else fails, the rc is a good friends bike and i can score it for 4k so thats how ill go. in the meantime im open to any other ideas.

+1 Triumph 675
but also, i had a 98 CBR600 smoking joe edition... one of my all time fav sport bikes man, just ripped! plus turned a ton of heads...
very hard to come by... but when you do HOLD ON TO IT!!!!

also a big fan of the new naked bikes out there man the GSR750 is super dope... but may want to look at a bandit 1200 and strip it down, they are insane fast and a blast to ride... i have a 600 and love it could only imagine how much fun the 1200 is ... they are more of a sport touring set up but you can still rip turns like any sport bike out there... i love it
you can track down a 01-04 for around your price... and then if you wnat to you can tour on it if needed

I love the look of the tricolor interceptors... single sided swingarm + paint scheme that flows with sporty body lines = thumbs up from me. Also, I don't see that anyone has mentioned the gsxr alstare.

no offence to gsxr owners but youd never see me riding one lol. theres more of them around here than there are trees.

looks like i scored the RC51 guys, im stoked. the mods are as follows...crg levers, crg rear sets, PCIII, soft rev mod, speedo heealer, 20 liter carbon airbox, undertail with turns intergrated with brake lights, and a couple other little things. as soon as i get it im throwing on a jardine 2-1 exhaust with plans of changing the muffler in the winter and hoping to be able to afford carrozzeria split 3 spoke wheels in gold for it.

heres a pic of the exact bike but it has stock wheels now.
