My 1975 cb550f in Calgary

Well the new seat cover finally showed up and I just switched it over. Considering that I have never upholstered anything before, I am pretty pleased with the results!

When I pulled the old cover off, it was so brittle and dry that it practically fell apart. The foam didn't look very good either - if I was more prepared, I would have had something on hand to put over it:

I paid $9 extra for a new grab-strap but I ended up just putting the old one on because I didn't want to switch the buckles over:

I am really pleased with the 'stitching' pattern in the vinyl and the Honda logo on the back. It really does look like a new, stock cover:

Hope you like,

WOW.. not bad at all!!..
It does look brand new!!..

Why didn't you make it into a cafe seat?
I just heard back from Anne, and she's going to have my cb550 Cafe seat done this weekend.

I pulled the foam and leather off it, she gonna weld the back end of a tank for me on to the OEM pan and I'll just put new foam/leather just like on this project that Im doing for my cb750:

Looks great Chad!!..

Thanks! I'm starting out pretty slow here and I don't have the skill to make it into a cafe seat right now...
For me, getting new handle bars is going to be a big step :)

You sure do some amazing work - I hope that one day my 550's as pretty as yours. By then I will probably start looking for a 750 too.
Cheers,

- Chad
