Never done

I just wanted to show an update of my bike. 71' CB836. I found a killer cast aluminum side cover at a vintage shop and did the cafe treatment to it.

I'm in love all over again!

Looks great - might consider a front fork brace if you haven't already. The mount from a stock fender works great and looks decent if painted black. Allows you to keep using the gaitors, which I really like too.

Are the rims painted or powdercoated? That alloy sidecover is some treasure! Now, if you could just find the match!

Powder coated with stainless steel spokes. I lucked out and don’t need the other side... I have all my electrics moves and it looks good to me open.
I have tried to fit the old (stock) fender brace but it won’t fit with my tire. I need to fab something up.

I’m working on my hydraulic clutch conversion right now however.

I'd be tempted to lop off the passenger mounting frames, the side cover tabs and perforate the left side engine sprocket cover and rear sprocket.

The front disk would benefit from that treatment as well.
