Portland metro area wheel building and truing?

I broke down my wheels to have my hubs/rims and spokes cleaned up and powder coated. Does anyone know a good place in the Portland metro area to have my wheels put back together trued and the tires(BS spitfires) mounted? I spent about 3 hours today and never got the spokes in correctly. I'm not sure about how much its supposed to cost for all that so any extimates would be great too!!

Thanks

Curious about the same info. Don't need it now, but will eventually :)

If you're not on yet, jump on Facebook and lookup Rockers NW. It's a group page for scheduling rides, gtgs, and work days, lots of cool people on there and lots of help/resources

Yeah, I think Rvi in the group could use the lead as well, for his Triumph project. I believe this is a service that Anthony will provide when Bridge City Cycles opens up next month, but I'm not sure.

Try Bridge City Cycles, which will be opening next month, or Doomtown Motorworks. Those are people we know. Poor Bastard Cycle Works or Vicious Cycle could probably help you out as well, but I don't know them and haven't worked with them before.

I just laced up my front wheel and I'm gonna have a try at truing it this weekend. I'll let you know how it goes. If all works out well, I wouldn't mind repeating the process for someone else provided they bring the beer. ;)

From what I've heard, the first few times take a while to get right, but a good stand helps. I don't think I'd want to do it for someone else (especially for the price of beer) until I got pretty good at it, just because of how long it would likely take. Do you already have a stand, Sonreir?

I'm going to give it a go when I get to that point as well. I shudder to think where I'd be at on the 360 right now if I wouldn't have bought/wrecked/rebuilt the GS.

I may give it another shot on my front wheel this weekend....got a few calls out but no replies. My boss at work also said there is a dirtbike shop in vancouver called Bent lever that has done a wheel for him. So im going to call them today while im at work

Any of you guys know the off set of the wheel to the hub, I talked to Bent lever and he said 96 a wheel to build the wheel and mount and balance the tire. He just wanted at least an image of the wheel prior to tear down and then the offsets for the rim in relation to the hub (left to right) for front and rear. (72 CL350 19" front and 18" rear).

Thanks!!
Mike

after alot of research and i found the offset for the rims is 0(wheel is centered over center "line in hub") and i was able to get the wheels laced!!! I am still going to take them to get trued since ive never done it and the whole its bad to have a wheel fall apart while riding thing...lol

Sorry I didn't see the question posted in time, man. Glad you got 'em laced up. A lot of places will want to see a "before" pic so they can get the spoke pattern dialed in. Good job on the progress!
