I haven't seen anything posted about it this year so I figured I'd put it up here as a FYI for people around florida and georgia. The annual riding into history show is again at World Golf Village close to st augustine this MAY 18...

I'm goin, and hoping my bike will be done in time so I can show it off...

Who else is going???

I would, but I'll be visiting family that week. Too bad, looks like it'd be fun.

Weak sauce. I think you and I are the closest.. And therefore most likely to go, looks like I'm flying solo... I'll take pictures.

Well, family vacation has been backed up about a month, so depending on work schedule, I may just be able to make this.

It'd be cool to enter the bike in the concours, however, mine is so far below the standard of aesthetics that I think they'd probably laugh and kick me out if I even tried to enter.

no way man, do it. there have been some rougher looking bikes there in the past by looking at some of the videos posted up on youtube. if my carburetors are in working order by then, im going to try and put mine in there...

Are you entering your bike? It says you have to pre-register and it caps it at 400 bikes, just wondering how many they have so far, and when the last day to register is. If all goes according to plan, I hope they don't mind oil spots on those nice bright clay pavers!

I've filled out the paperwork, and if all goes accordingly, I'll scan it up and send it in by next saturday the 12th. thats the deadline. on the blog like two weeks back it said that they were around 100 bikes, and though im sure thats probably at least doubled, we still may have some room. so I figure before i email my form, i'll call the number they have on there, to see if they have yet to hit the cap. that will be on monday, because ill be picking up my carbs from pj on sunday. so ill let you know what i hear then.
im sure urs wont be the first to drip a bit. oil dry is probably on hand in a moments notice. :)

Let me know what they say when you call them. Also, am I reading it correctly, there is NOT a fee for entering the concours? That strikes me as odd, but would be very cool considering it'll cost about 12$ of 93 octane to get down there and back, not to mention food and beverages, which at WGV, are not cheap. What discourages me, is that you can not leave between like 10 and 330 or so, I guess so the judges have time to look at all the bikes, but I guess if you leave, you forfeit your position in the concours. Oh well, you really could spend 5 hours around there and be entertained the whole time, even if you're the least bit interested in golf.

I tried to call them just now, (7:40 am) and i guess its a bit too early, ill try again later. but yeah, theres no charge to enter your bike, plus, entering your bike gets you +1 in for free. otherwise its 10$ to walk about and check shit out. i have the same hang up on the time restrictions... but my plan was to go and have a walk around the place when we get there and set up. chances are, not everybody is gunna be all set up at 930ish a.m., but it wont be hot as all hell just yet. and then i figured if imax was playing,(they got short docs going all the time,) id check out a movie, then maybe eat at the murray bros place, just to eat up time as well as food. by time im done with that and make my way rounf the lake a second time, i would think itd be pretty close to the afternoon, and ive never been before, so who knows what other motorcycle related stuff there is to look at/ do. im not really one for golf, so thats what i am banking on.
but ill keep you posted on what word i hear when i ring them a second time later on.

So I just called again. The lady in the line said that they were rounding out 300 bikes registered so far, but she also said incoming forms were beginning to slow down a bit. She asked about my bike and where I was from and if I had been there before. Then said fill out the form and email it to her and it'd be processed with a confirmation email. I'll be sendin in my form tomorrow it looks like if the pods and orings come in for my bike.

All ready for tomorrow... 8)
