hello, just googled savannah cafe and found this. im new to savannah and just starting a cafe build on my 83 suzuki gs 450. i know its not a good ole english bike but its gonna be my little toy. i would love to have some one in the area that could lend a helping hand or just offer advice if i need any.
Picking up a 74 CB550 to work on in the next month. Any and all help in the area would be appreciated. Any and all shops that anyone knows of just in case I need something done that I can't do would help as well. Would love to see some others even though I am yet to have mine complete, plus get to know more info on what I am getting into. I am mechanically inclined so shop talk is always welcomed.
Found a shop in Guyton, about 45 mins out of Savannah. Vintage Motors is the name of the establishment and Duck is the owner. Great man, new(er) shop to him and full of great bikes. If you get a chance ride over and check it out sometime!

I just picked up a nice unrestored '67 cb160 in Guyton today. There are less than 5000 on the ODO. The PO cleaned it up and installed new gaskets. It is the smallest bike I've ever owned, but it's perfect for what I'm using it for. Around Savannah and short joy rides.
saw that on CL! great purchase, I was drooling over it when I saw it and figured I would swing by if it was still available when I returned from my trip. Definitely am envious! Does it ride as smooth as it looks?

So far after about an hour on it yesterday it's been great. I got home last night and my wife told me I had a big dopy grin on my face. So yeah, it's working.
Duck is a good guy. If you're in neck of the woods drop by.
Oh, the CB160 was just a hair too small for me.
It has a new chain on it too. Forgot to mention that when I sold here to ya.
Some nice country roads up here in Effingham. 119 from Springfield to 321 S in a nice putt.
Great to see there is a scene starting up in Savannah. It's on my short list of cities I'd like to relocate to in the next 5 years. Love the city and I need to extend my riding season!
I was stationed in Warner Robbins '81-'84. Used to go to Savannah on weekends for the beach and to party. Loved it. Have goone back a few times over the years and think it's gotten better. Haven't been in about 5 years now, but hope to again soon. Need to hit it for a St. Patty's day.
Hah, i cant believe i never noticed this thread before. I live in Beaufort and Savannah, depending on work. I ride that old KZ440 with the checkered tank and small black fairing with "13" on it. Im always down to make a few bucks helping yall get your old bikes on the road. And by a few bucks i mean a few beers and gas money.
As for you guys in savannah, if you need professional work and dont wanna go to Guyton, go see Ted at Sport Cyce. Hes never let me down.
