Hey guys....Im pretty new here and way more of a lurker than a poster. Trying to absorb as much as I can from this awesome community. Well, I ride a CB360 that looks like any one of a dozen thats on this site. I love it but found this cool little bike and really couldn't pass it up. Its an 08 Ninja 250 with 6500 miles and I got it for a steal! Guy I bought it from was a metal sculptor whose works involve found/reused engine parts and mechanical pieces. He was an awesome dude....and set the bike up the way you see it here. Its wayyyy out (new exhaust- no rejetting yet) of tune but a blast to ride when you hit the sweetspot. I thought I would share it with you guys- let me know what you think. Sorry for the crappy cell phone pic- the other side of the bike sports a 2-1 cafe style exhaust that sits about where the CL exhaust sits- its rad! Seat and tank are from a CB200.
Wow, that is one gnarly 250.... I dig it! I've often wondered how something like that would work on one of the tube-frame Ninja 600r's... at least now I can see a representation. Only thing I don't like is that puny 16" front wheel, and the girls need to be lowered some. Otherwise, great find!
Thanks fellas....yeah the front wheel is lame and it sits pretty high. Im 5'10" and it works for me but it definitely changes the riding dynamic a bit. Its pretty crazy but I paid less for this thing than I did the 360....
I will have some more pics after this weekend with the POD filters and header wrap installed...I burned the balls out of my leg last weekend when i was messing with the bike. Also gotta kreem the tank at some point. As far as mods go...I may paint her a burnt orange color that I saw on a member's tank last week that I absolutely loved...possibly throw on a fiberglass seat so i can drop the riding position a couple of inches (if I can figure out a mounting situation). But...it is getting warmer everyday and Im getting the itch to ride rather than wrench. Thanks for the compliments!
Thanks for the suggestion I've got a couple little mods planned for her but need to get it running right first. To that end priority one is dealing with that tank. The thing is leaky and pretty rusty and could use some work. Bad thing is I have no clue what type of tank it is. Thought it was a cb200 or cl200 but doesn't look like either of those. The cap is in the dead center of the tank unlike the CL and the thing isn't boxy enough to be a CB. Im trying to find a suitable replacement but am spinning my wheels a bit. I may just put on some inline fuel filters and do my best to clean out/patch the existing tank...
Carbs jetted and ready to go. Pods installed. Electrics sorted out. I'm so damn close but don't want to put this rust bucket back on. Im getting it dipped, cleaned, and sealed at a radiator place tomorrow but would love to figure out what this thing is so I dont gum up the carbs again. If anybody knows what this is from I will be forever in your debt. Petcock is on the right side.Sorry for the shit pics...enjoy the bathroom!
