Re: My Suzi T500 Project *Update*
Sounds like a good plan, I'm happy with my oil pump, yeah Eric K. says to skim the heads. Your bike (and you) have a bunch of fans here so keep us posted. I almost have mine finished, painting soon. I used a Ninja 300 swingarm (20.5") that I did the reverse...

John, when you tore the motor down, did you find anything unusual or out of spec.? Something that may answer the question of why it didn't run as well as hoped for? Did you modify anything for the "new" motor?

The Moto Guzzi decal pretty much determines how wide the stripe is. Judging by that I'd say it's about right, without the logo then any width is possible?

Good to see the BB again. Great bike, the locomotive headlight and that Rotary tank is tops. I found one of those tanks, bought it, but it has pinholes in it. Had plans to put it on my Titan 500.

Wow, one of my DTT favorites comes back! Great job all around. It's encouraging to hear how well it handles and brakes. Well done vintage style bikes still have a chance. You said you'd run it a Spa in the vintage enduro races. Did that happen? A video would be fun to see and hear the...
Very nice mock up. This should add a lot to the look of the bike. I like exhaust work, it's the voice of the machine. You might extend your slash cut tip a bit to avoid cooking your heel? Good job.

The length overall is really not a valid number. More importantly the length from center of S/A pivot to axle center (set at middle adjustment) has implication as to the effective length for calculating suspension set ups. Also the style of chain adjuster does not come into play but the center...
As I said in reply #95 I'd start with 10wt and evaluate from there on. If you want a bit more firmness add a bit more fluid to each fork. This works simply because fluid does not compress and the air above the fluid does compress so the less air the more firm they become. Do not confuse the...
Not beat a semi-dead horse but you can buy fork oil from heavy weights down to what's called "water weight" which is zero wt. I have 5wt in my CX500 (USD Showa forks) and mix those, at least then you know by the combined weights what you'd end up with and use a superior product as compared to...
Oh, by the way, hipsters don't make things they "curate" them.
I think the 20wt. fork oil may be a tad heavy? I'd say 10wt. to start with. Cool, build.

On that "Kott" bike, I wonder why he bothered to put the dog leg in the shifter rod, needless, it should be straight, and the bends allows the rod to flex.
