    Beachcomber's Tales from the day

Your ramblings kinda remind me of Jim Fogg stories, (BIKE magazine and independent publishing, late 70's?) except yours are real life tales.

    CB360 oil system modification

I contacted Photobucket about pictures and a real nice tech put them all in one folder for me. I had already deleted some though so not everything is available. I do have pictures of oil transfer piece mod as I took new ones when I was doing a CB350. (much easier than 360 as it's got removable...

Motogadget Mo.View Bar-End Adapter Won’t Seat in Renthal Bars — What Am I Missing?

I logged in to say Renthals are probably too thick but you figured it anyway.

    Ultrasonic parts cleaner

Personally I stopped using ultrasonic on carb bodies, you still need to strip carb and check everything. I've had 360 carbs sent to me after 'professional' ultrasonic cleaning' that were worse internally than the gum and lacquer that was originally there. Outside looked great but carbs weren't...

Need help with Pamco ei please.

Original Honda plug caps 74~77 were 10K not 5K so I would use 5K plug plus 5K cap. I bought two boxes of B8ES several years ago plus have a pair in Honda /NGK boxes that came with one of my 360's. The 'Honda Genuine Parts' are 51 years old so I keep them for display..

    Restoration of a 74 RD350

Takes me back. I was running workshop in a Suzuki/Yamaha dealers so got to ride all of them many times (without having to buy them . Had a really nice 'test route' around coast on 'B' roads, Bridgend, Ewenny, Ogmore-by-sea, Southerndown, St. Brides, Ewenny, Bridgend, 10 miles, ten...

Not sure if anyone has had a lot of success using lithium batteries on 360's, even with new alternator and R/R? I know a few have had batteries catch fire when load balance inside battery can't cope with wrong voltage input, makes me afraid to even try one (as much as I would like to)

    First timer: Honda CB360 Resto

No idea how I missed this in the original posting although I started looking after stepdaughters son in 2016 a week before his first birthday (so understand exactly what you mean about having kids) . Anyway, post 19, page 1. You have a valve spring upside down, (left side exhaust) The 'closed'...

Old men pointing at each other

Thanks Tim, wrong site. It was VS I was thinking about. I still don't get here very often nowadays though.

Opened a can of worms CB360

Most common cause's for no spark 360 with points 1. low battery voltage (left side stops sparking first) 2. points gap not set properly (often too wide and set at wrong position, ~90 degrees after TDC) 3. points wires not fitted correctly (insulators in wrong places or missing) 4 points wires...

GS550 oil in the left had crankcase

I used to work at a Suzuki dealer and did a load of work on GS550's (Built a 170mph 620cc 'GS550' 45+ years ago) It's an incredibly reliable motor, if bike just 'fell over' there is a possibility case moved slightly and damaged gasket There should be two hollow dowels to keep things lined up but...

I don't think anyone has had great success with electronic ignition on any version of the 360. The area runs so hot it tends to destroy even the best electronics. (I know Pete switched to 'military grade around 2017) I've been 'playing' with CB/CJ 250/360's since early 1980's and never found...

    Rims and Spokes

If your doing new rims and spokes, get one size wider as the stock size is the absolute minimum width for the tyres used (often actually slightly undersize) Going one size wider will improve the handling totally out of proportion . 1.60 is internal width between flanges in inches, you may find...

    Chinese radiators

The Chinese were making an SV650 clone for several years so I guess the new radiator would really be for that?

Old men pointing at each other

The real reason this forum isn't doing so great is majority of older members got pissed off by new site owners changing format so moved to a different site with a different name. I used to be here daily helping people with bikes I knew quite a bit about, now, maybe once a month (or more)

    1974 Honda CL360 barn find

I tried B9EV platinum plugs (bought a box as I thought I would need them) but switched back to stock B8ES as 9's didn't get hot enough even with 87 octane pump gas.(I bought two boxes of B8ES in 2011 still have most of them as plugs only need changing after 20,000miles or more, I'm only a bit...

    1974 Honda CL360 barn find

Oh, if you haven't painted frame yet and are going to change carbs this frame mod is worthwhile even though frame analysis shows steering head is weak point I know this is where flexing actually starts (paint flakes off and frame goes rusty) it can't be used with stock air box and battery box...

    1974 Honda CL360 barn find

There were a total of three recalls, rocker shafts, cam chain tensioner and a wiring harness guide on left front fuel tank mount. Rocker shafts were not a complete disaster, cam chain tensioner only a problem if it never got adjusted but wiring harness could droop and 'lock' steering. Only...

    CB360 oil system modification

Photobucket also deleted my account as I wasn't going to pay them for a few megabytes of pictures (even $5.00 a month soon mounts up) I have some of the original pictures, will search them out and see about re-uploading

CL360 running like the choke is always on, please advise.

Never heard of that before and I've seen just about everything on 360's.
