I think so. It just seems like there is going to be a heavy amount of stresses put in that area from the swingarm pivot and it currently isn't tied in with the lower cradle. I can't imagine a small amount of tubing will make much difference in electrical placement, especially if you go pma.

What's the plan for the tubing the rear motor mounts attach to? I can't imagine it will just be left as is, but curious what you have in mind.

How refreshing. Someone actually using math and calculating what will be necessary to "upgrade" the suspension and addressing the stresses placed on the frame while doing so. We need more of these threads, keep up the good work.

Re: 1972 DS7 The Long Road- The Un-Cafe Try not to forget that the suspension isn't loaded with a rider or under stresses normally given in riding conditions. It may look good now, but check it with the suspension fully compressed to see your true lean angle. Bike looks great though, keep up...

It's on my bucket list as well. I originally wanted to try out the cb350 drag bike once we get it finished on the salt, but I don't have a clue where to start on that.

From what I understand(very little), the salt doesn't care how much weight you lose, and sometimes requires more to get a good top speed. You lose acceleration speed, but not top speed.

I'm pretty sure I used to own the 360 you are building right now. It's been a few years though.

I would love to have some 4ls brakes, but unless a super deal falls in my lap I will pass. I'm pretty happy with how the kz is turning out. I started the fiberglass for the seat pan right before the weather went shitty, and on top of that ran out of resin. I'll get back to it soon enough though.

Mike's XS has some flanged aluminum rims that are fairly inexpensive for a pair. You can use the stock spokes with them as well to save a bit more cash. Food for thought.

Bummer on the 305's. I still wish I had them, but who knows how long it would take before I would be able to even get started on one of them. I definitely need to make a trip over there and check out your operation. Maybe a shake down run on the kz440 would be a good excuse. Also, top notch...

Glad to see this one coming together Mark! You and Jarred will probably be the best looking bikes that show up. Period. I may need to hit you guys up for a light weight fender on my kz440 build. Do you guys have any if fiberglass? I doubt I have the scratch to float a CF route on a Scramble...
