1968 Sears (Gilera) 124 5v project

I have inherrited three 1968 Sears & Roebuck 124cc motorcycles made by Gilera and imported for sale by Sears.

The one pictured is complete. Of the other two, one is about 80% and the other a frame w/ motor and parts. Before I start the tear down on this project, I would like to find a parts source and hopefully some more info on this Gilera based bike. Any and all comments/suggetstions welcome.
 
Wow, don't see those everyday! What are your plans for it? I know this sounds more like demand than advice, but PLEASE keep one of them stock! You have 3, well, 2 1/2 anyway. Build one back to original specs, and use the other 2 to make something your own (cafe/tracker/whatever). Those things are bad ass looking, I'll be tuning in to see how it goes!
 
My plan for now is to try and keep the complete bike as stock a possible and use the other two to piece together a custom. The great thing about these bikes is their simplicity. Just a headlight, taillight, and a cafe-style seat fromt he factory. This is my first adventure with a small bore Italian single.
 
Any news on the build? I had 106ss for a while. Lots of fun. Looking forward to seeing some progress.
 
My father bought one of these bikes from sears when they came out. Bike is now mine and I love it, runs great, totally stock, definitely turns heads. I wish I could get another one of these tanks for a cafe build, the style is great.
 
I actually seen one of these posted on my local classifieds recently (was a 1965 175cc though). No picture and I didn't really know what they looked like. Now I know, looks great. How is parts availability for them? I contemplated buying it but worried about parts, especially engine stuff. Will be following your progress.
