Hey guys this forum is great! I am no longer a lurker. Just picked this bike about a month ago. I am super excited about the bike. She turns but I havent started it yet. I will definetly have plenty of questions and I know yall will help out. Here she is...

I'd restore that baby and then find a beater for real cheap.

Take my advice on this one; I see 450s going for 3 grand in really nice condition. Take the money, buy a 700 dollar beater thats missing seat and is rusty etc, but mechanically sound, and build that. youll have money to make the build sick, and will be saving two bikes for many more years of enjoyment. Not to mention that the restoration will give you a lot of experience for the build. When you build a cafe racer you strip near everything off it, so you might as well start with something with pieces missing but at a cheaper cost.

or build this one if 450s are hard to come across in your area. just saying what I learned the hard way. :)
 
I love that bike for the tank alone. Good project and great starter!
